In very exciting tv news, Blindspot finally kicks off its looooonnnng awaited 5th and final season tonight (Seriously, its about time NBC!!!) and Edie Falco's so-so CBS police chief drama--"Tommy" Has A Season Finale. Can You Get A 2nd Season? Whoa-oh-ohhh Tommy....Tommy....Tommy...Tommy...ELLO!!! This is What's On for May 7th 2020
Streaming:
The Good Fight (CBS ALL ACCESS):
Scissor Seven (Netflix): Chinese language anime about a contract killer who's also a hairdresser (sounds like a good cover)
Bruh (BET Plus): New Tyler Perry produced show about several 30 something friends navigating the world of dating.
Broadcast:
Young Sheldon (CBS): Rerun of the episode that saw Sheldon and his grandma getting ridiculously into Lord of the Rings--My mom actually quite liked this one as she was an LOTR fan as a youngster. (It was actually her who dragged me to the movies when they came out and not the other way around believe it or not!) (Also that took me completely by surprise at the time too)
Council Of Dads (NBC): This ridiculously titled drama officially kicks off its regular run on NBC with "Larry presents an offer to Robin that will impact the future of The Crab Shack; Luly (Luly???) digs deep into perseonal experiences to make an impression on her writing group (I know a Lula actually); Evan contemplates a return to school; and Oliver makes strides with Theo.
Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? (ABC): Tonight's contestants are Hannibal Burress and Catherine O'Hara. (Now that's a buddy comedy I would pay money to see honestly--I don't even care which one of them is the by the book cop and which one of them is the throws the rules out the window cop--those two ever make a buddy cop movie together, I am so there!)
Celebrity Watch Party (FOX): I don't know what this is, but it premieres tonight---whatever it is!!!!
Katy Keene (The CW): With the Pepper Plant opening, Pepper is excited to finally show it off to Katy, Josie, and Jorge; Katie faces some unsettling info about Guy's past and must decide how to handle the situation. (Oooh...Drama!)
Love On The Menu (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the Evening is this one where "A chef has to make a deal to save his restaurant from closure to helm a line of frozen food dinners" (Somewhere along the way I am certain that this chef must surely find love in some form right?) Starring Autumn Reeser (ooh!); Kavan Smith, Willie Aames (WILLIE AAMES GOT WORK?!?!?!?); and Barbra Niven! (Not too shabby there Hallmark Channel)
8:30
Man With A Plan (CBS): When Adam and Don disagree on a new house to try and flip for their construction business, it ends up sparking a huge fight that brings up old childhood issues for the two brothers and leads to them trying group therapy to resolve their issues. (They kind of need to since they run a business that provides them both with a living together); Andi meanwhile tries to organize a surprise party for Bev. (That would be Adam and Don's mother played by Swoozie Kurtz whom is now a regular i think????)
9:00
Mom (CBS): Rerun of the time that Tammy (Kristen Johnson) is granted early parole and she doesn't know how to feel about that given that she's been in and out of the system her entire adult life; Bonnie is disappointed by Adam's reaction to the birthday gift she gives him and isn't sure how to deal with that. (nods)
Blindspot (NBC): Kicking off the much anticipated 5th (and sadly final) season for this frequently inventive whirling mind teaser of a show finds Jane getting a strange message from an unknown ally which allows her to mount a mission to free Rich Dot Com from a CIA black site, but will needs help from arch villain Sho Akhtar. (But you know what about the giant cliffhanger the show ended the 4th season on--you remember everyone in the cast with the exception of Jane was in immediate danger of being blown up??? No???)
Station 19 (ABC): Ben, Jackson, and Emmett are put in a precarious and dangerous situation with a potential victim; Andy's search for more background on her family opens her eyes; and Vic and Trans are caught in the middle of a corruption scheme. (This show apparently had it all!)
Mental Samurai (FOX): Rerun
In The Dark (The CW): Murphy seeks to help Max out of a life or death situation; Dean leverages Murphy and Max against one another in an attempt to fix his own bad circumstances; Felix finds difficulty juggling his dating life with his drug dealing life. (Well maybe don't be a drug dealer then??? Just a suggestion)
Ghost Adventures (Travel): A Century old farm in Ontario California. (I didn't even know there was an Ontario in California!)
Restaurant Impossible (Food):
9:30
Broke (CBS): Jackie gets into an argument with Javier over him taking Sammy to church on Sundays; Elizabeth gets into Luis' spin class and gets the attention of the instructor to Luis' horror. (The Horror! The Horror!)
10:00
Tommy (CBS): The "Edie Falco is the police commissioner of the LAPD drama" (yes its like Blue Bloods but on the West Coast) comes to a finale tonight with "Tommy and her inner circle fight back against a conspiracy to have her removed from the position of chief of police; Can she manage to keep her job and her dignity?" (I'm gonna guess yes unless they opt for a cliffhanger type ending, which for their sake I hope they don't because the ratings for this weren't all that good, but it may end up coming back just because CBS needs shows to occupy its airwaves since pilot season has been strongly affected by Coronavirus Shutdown sooo the fate of this one is pretty up in the air currently)
Law and Order Special Victims Unit (NBC): Rerun of the episode that had a serial predator preying on gay men and the latest victim is a very high profile actor whom ends up being nothing but a headache for the new police chief as he and Benson try to deal with the media as well as the celeb himself. (It was based if i remember right somewhat on the Jussie Smollett fiasco even tho it was modified to fit SVU)
How To Get Away With Murder (ABC): The series enters its endgame scenario as the murder trial for which Annalise Keaton is charged in finally gets underway, but Teegan's history complicatate her role as counsel (Ohh Nooo!); Nate visits Jorge Castillo in prison with a propisition for him; News breaks about Xavier (he's dead); Bonnie works to help Annalise use Hannah Keating's past as blackmail to keep her from testifying. (That's Marcia Gay Harden's character right?) (One more episode after tonight baby!)
Top Chef (Bravo):
Siren (Freeform): Ryn, Ben, and Maddie must recruit new allies in the fight against Tia; Helen seeks answers when she's haunted by Donna's spirit; Tia obtains dangerous weapons she plans to use on her fight against the humans; and Xander struggles to make amends with Annie. (Once again i think Xander struggling to make amends is the best plotline here)
Portals To Hell (Travel): Thomas House Hotel in Tennessee.
HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY ONE AND ALL
