What's On Tonight (Thursday): "Siren" Sings Of a 3rd Season Finale

Via Imgur
Admit it, you never heard of "Siren" before...it was that Freeform show about the killer mermaids??? I remember seeing ads for it when it launched a couple Januaries back...i distinctly remember seeing an ad on the subway for it and staring at it and being like "What IS This???" Well it was a Freeform show that had been quietly airing out its 3rd season on Thursday nights this spring. (shrugs) Its a perfectly valid Top Pick selection....This is What's On for May 28th 2020

Streaming

The Good Fight (CBS All Access): Apparently, this series is wrapping up its 4th season super early because of quarantine imposed shut down---as its 7th episode is being billed as its season finale. (That's crazy right? they're supposed to have like 10 per season I believe) (It'll be back tho)

Dorohedoro (Netflix): New Japanese Manga is about an amnesiac reptilian headed Caiman (???) working together with a friend (or so he thinks) to recover his memories and survive. (ok)

Intuition (Netflix): New Argentinian Crime Movie about a police officer named Pipa who is investigating a big crime while simultaneously trying to avoid being caught investigating her boss whom she suspects of a giant cover up. (Go Get 'Em Pipa!!!)

Broadcast

Young Sheldon (CBS): Rerun of that time Sheldon goes to the dentist and the knockout gas gives him what he thinks to be an amazing solution to a widely disputed theoretical problem without a solution and well he can't remember the answer his gassed up brain derived and drives himself and others nuts trying to remember it. Meanwhile Meemaw and Craig T Nelson go gambling in a casino while Georgie gets left in charge of Craig T's store and um things don't go well.

Council of Dads (NBC): Robin tackles the fall holidays but feels that she can't compare to how Scott had handled them; Oliver struggles with Pete's transgressions; Theo makes new friends but they turn out to not be a good influence; Lily gets some news about her adoptive family. (These all sound like leftover plotlines from "A Million Little Pieces" Ohhh Council Of Dads...)

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? (ABC): Lauren Lapkus and Anderson Cooper vie for the million tonight! (That Lauren Lapkus is Everywhere right now!)

Celebrity Watch Party (FOX): They're watching and reacting to "Friends" tonight which makes me think about who on earth who's over the age of 10 hasn't seen an episode of Friends yet exactly???

Burden of Proof (The CW): Reeling from the sudden apprehension of Kadie's kids by Family Services, Joanna sets out to win her friend back custody but in order to do so, she must conduct a thorough investigation into her old friend's life. (Will it yield unexpected results??? Dun Dun Dunnn)

Good Witch Spellbound (Hallmark): One of them there "Good Witch" movies--this one has some old prophecies about the town unearthed in a church basement coming true somehow. (nods)

8:30

Man With A Plan (CBS): Adam and Andi attempt to spice up their social life by making some new friends, but because neither of them has had to make a friend in so long, both have difficulty doing so. (God if ever there was a plotline to an episode that demanded a guest appearance by a former "Friend" of Matt LeBlanc's, it'd be this one right???) ("I'll Be There For You...Unless You're On A CBS Show")

9:00

Mom (CBS): Majorie attempts to reconnect with her estranged son; Tammy sees another side of Jill when she becomes a temporary employee of Jill's when Jill asks for help while throwing a cocktail party for neighbors. (If i remember right this is the one that had Bonnie admitting that she stole some fancy fork or something from her kitchen when they first met years ago because Bonnie never ever thought in a million years that that'd actually be friends or something like that)

Blindspot (NBC): When an op goes badly, the team must deal with a proverbial monster in their house before it can take them all down one by one; Director Weitz is forced into a tense game of psychological warfare as Madeline Burke attempts to assess his loyalty. (Why is Madeline Burke still here?!?!?!?)

Holey Moley (ABC): A former pro golfer tees up against a scrapbooking queen out on the Putter Ducky table; a model and a revenge minded husband flip out after their diving skills are scored by Greg Louganis and Steve Guttenberg. (Who put those two guys in charge of judging diving skills? Ok Louganis makes sense logically, but Guttenberg?!?!?!?)

Labor of Love (FOX): "Crazy Stupid Bear" finds the bachelors all taking a trip into the woods. (What does this have to do with parenting???)

In The Dark (The CW): Murphy's preoccupation with helping max forces her to take a more extreme risk than advisable; Felix is forced to contend with issues over at Guiding Hope; Jess struggles with her relationships; and Chloe meets Dean's new partner. (Lots of stuff happening here--or so it seems)

Ghost Adventures (Travel): Eureka Utah and a bizarre ritual door done by a group of people living out there. (are they Mormons????)

10:00

Law and Order Special Victims Unit (NBC): Rerun of that time a teenage girl is assaulted at a project tenement which leads to a startling discovery, and Benson has to put her trust in someone from her past. (Someone who's not Stabler as he didn't return last season, but will be back this coming season!)

To Tell The Truth (ABC): Tom Lennon, D'arcy Carden, Alfonso Riberiero, and Andrea Savage are all on the guest panel tonight.

Top Chef (Bravo): Tom makes his final decision from Last Chance Kitchen on who should return to the competition; the chefs take off in a Quickfire and Padma and Jonathan Waxman make a 2 course business class dish for an airline. (Wait, do they make it or do they challenge the Top Chef contestants to make it--cause that would seem to make more sense right?)

Siren (Freeform): Top Pick of the night goes to this mermaid drama which finishes up its 3rd season tonight. ("Can you believe its been on that long???) (No, but only because I never heard of it before just now Matthew") In an effort to save Hope, Ryn and Ben confront Tia in an undersea battle between the mermaid tribes; Maddie and Robb work to find a cure for Xander, while Helen and the hybrids help restore law and order (dun dun); and Ted struggles to accept Ben's reality.

Portals to Hell (Travel): Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfirled Ohio

Questlove's Potluck Dinner (Food): Various Celebrities whom also happen to be friends of Questlove supports America's Food Fund

Impractical Jokers (Tru TV): Dinner Party Show 2--the guys discuss what they've been up to while stuck at home. (What are they also stuck in quarantine???) (Impractical Jokes You Can Do At Home!)

10:30

The Misery Index (TBS): Speaking of the Impractical Jokers--this new episode of their game show which I can only presume was taped pre Quarantine--has contestants trash talking the crew (How Ruuude!!!); Sal has a moist moment; and they all face down a giant door opening python. (The episode is called "This Is Not A Drill")

11:00

Vagrant Queen (Syfy): The team arrives on Arriopa to take down Lazero, a face from the past unexpectedly returns. "All Old Things Must Pass" is the episode's title.

THAT"S IT ON MY END--HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY ONE AND ALL!!!!
