What's On Tonight (Monday): Better Call Saul Better Calls A Season Finale.

Huh? Huh? Right? Yeah that's a good one! Saul, The Plot Against America, and Cosmos all come to an end tonight---This is What's On for Monday April 20th 2020.

8:00

The Neighborhood (CBS): CBS is all outta new episodes for their Monday night shows for the immediate future so please enjoy this rerun from December that has Dave trying to show his son that there's more to life than technology and gadgets and Cedric contemplating trying to take his auto repair shop online (and into the 21st century)

The Voice (NBC): "The Battles" Part 2!

9-1-1 (FOX): Still new however is FOX with this rescue show that tonight features "Eddie's journey to rescue a boy from a well which turns into a mission to save himself from his past as well" (Whatever that means!)

The Bachelor Presents Listen To Your Heart (ABC): Jamie is torn between 2 men, chooses one and goes out on a date; Bri and Chris deal with some trust issues; 2 new arrivals become admirers of Bri (what's so great about the Bri guy???); and the 11 women are still vying for the 8 guys there. (or is it the reverse number/gender combo???)

Whose Line? (The CW): New episode featuring guest star Charles Estin (followed at 8:30 by Jonathan Magnum 7 which is a rerun episode)

Antiques Roadshow (PBS): McNay Art Museum Hour 1 spolights a W.W. Denslow inscribed Wonderful Wizard of Oz (an inscribed Wizard of Oz what tho); a Mercury space capsule wind tunel model; a black opal ring (Nods)

Cooking With Love (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the Night is this one where "Producer Kelly and Celebrity Chef Stephen do not have time for love until the two of them are paired up on a cooking show" (What does the show give them time enough for love at last?) Starring Ali Liebert and Brett Dalton. (ooh Brett Dalton! Beef McRunalot from Agents of Shield!)

8:30

Bob Hearts Abishola (CBS): Rerun of the episode that saw Abishola trying to take Bob with her and her family to church and um things get wacky as the congregation goes to great lengths to make Bob feel welcome and not at all like an outsider.

9:00

All Rise (CBS): Another rerun that has Judge Lola trying to calm everyone down after a published interview with her mother (who herself is a noted activist) goes viral in which she trashes the very justice system her daughter practices in! (gasps!)

Prodigal Son (FOX): This show returns for its last two episodes of the season with "After a catastrophic turn of events, Malcolm and Ainsley are convinced that there's more to Nicholas Endicott than meets the eye; and there's an impromptu Whitley family reunion happening." (If i remember right it was Dermot Mulroney who plays Nicholas Endicott who's a bazillionaire who's romancing the mother figure--who used to be the crazy first lady on "Scandal" btw---but he's hiding something possibly menacing!)

Roswell New Mexico (The CW): Maria's investigation into her mom's disappearance leads her and Alex to the home of a mysterious boat maker named Howard Travis; Isobel's night out leads her into the arms of someone unexpected (Frank Stallone?!?!?!?); and Liz is dealt a devastating blow. (Frank Stallone?!?!?!?)

Antiques Roadshow (PBS): Rerun from '16 takes them to Little Rock Arkansas and spolights An Olin Trains Ozark hiltop painting; a 1936 Lou Gehrig autograph; and an English glitwood cabinet on stand circa 1730. (wow pre-revolutionary war era!)

Better Call Saul (AMC): The 5th season finale (5th!!!) finds Jimmy and Kim taking a sideways move that ends up taking a more serious turn than intended; and Nacho gets closer to the Cartel than he'd ever like to get. (The episode is titled "Something Unforgivable" and it runs until 10:25 tonight so set your DVR's accordingly!)

The Plot Against America (HBO): Also wrapping up tonight is this miniseries that finds "As riots and conspiracists spread out across the country in the lead up to election day; Herman takes measures to help keep his family safe; Bess does all that she can at a great distance to help a small child caught up in a maelstrom of anti-semitism in Kentucky. (This is Part 6 and uhh again I hope it has a more climactic ending then "Walter Winchell's radio broadcasts ultimately causes people to rise up and save the day with sanity!" which is more or less how the book ended) (Like Sanity could rouse people to action!)

Cosmos-Possible Worlds (Nat Geo): Also ending its current season tonight is this science based tv show---with "Seven Windows of the New World" A visit to the 2039 New York World's Fair where intractable problems may be solved (Yeah right!); and thrilling possibilities exist. (Like New Intractable Problems!) (nods) So Long Cosmos---Maybe You'll Get Another Season Yet????

Beyond the Unknown (Travel): From the science fact to the science fiction we have this show investigating a ghostly visit from Abraham Lincoln; sightings of The Mothman; and a sea creature that feasts on its own kind. (Sure Jan!)

American Pickers (History): Man Cave Heaven (I think this is a clip show???)

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Gomer is labeled a patsy by a rival platoon squad who want to use him for info. (Ah so he's a "useful idiot" then--well we'll see how useful he is when every single question they ask him is answered with the word "Shazam!")

9:30

Green Acres (MeTV): Oliver takes the phone company to court when he feels he is getting inadequate service. (Finally a plotline as relevant today as when this first aired!)

10:00

Bull (CBS): In this rerun from December--Bull takes a seemingly unwinnable case while Marissa would like to have an office Christmas Party for some reason. (I didn't write this, although i feel like I could write an episode of Bull easily enough!) ("Bull must defend the deputy mayor on charges of corruption but its easier said than done when it turns out the deputy mayor is actually an illegal alien!" What A Twist!)

Songland (NBC): Louis Fonzi (Ayyyyyyy!!!!) guest judges alongside the regular judges tonight on this "Shark Tank" but with struggling musicians/singers instead of inventors/business people reality show.

The Baker and the Beauty (ABC): Shouldn't the title be "Beauty and the Baker???" By putting The Baker first, i keep thinking of the title as being "The Baker and the Beast" which i know isn't right. Anyways "Noa and Daniel's relationship flourishes but after a surprise birthday party for Noa, Daniel discovers more than he'd like to about her past and panics; a food critic puts in an outrageous food order which the Garcia family cannot refuse" (Why is this on again???)

Independent Lens (PBS): "The Hottest August"---Documentary chronicling the anxieties, distractions, and survival techniques of various New Yorkers during the hottest month on record in August 2017. (I was alive and living here in August of 2017---in fact my birthday is at the end of that month! I don't believe i did anything differently than i do currently to be honest)

American Dad (TBS): Hayley drives Steve to a testing center in a bad part of downtown Langley Falls (ha!); the two of them end up stranded in an even worse suburban area so Stan, Francine, and Roger all hop in the car to try and rescue them. (Is this gonna end up being a "Get Out" parody you think? I'm trying to think what specific thing this is gonna end up being a parody of)

Breeders (FX): Family life is thrown off kilter as someone in the family spend their weekdays in Berlin and weekends in London---Paul, Louise, and Ava try to middle thru without her there but the children aren't sleeping again and it takes a toll on Paul. (The episode is titled "No Cure Part 1" indicating that there will be a Part 2!)

My Brilliant Friend (HBO): Elena plunges headfirst into her academic future, while Lila tackles problems on an entirely different nature. (I believe this is also the season finale of this one tho I could be mistaken???)

Almost Paradise (WGN): When a crew for a reality TV show exposes sunken WW2 battlegrounds arrives at the resort, Alex's need for rent money ensnares him in an illicit dive operation with potentially catastrophic consequences. (Nods--Christian Kane's Hairline Stars!)

10:25

Dispatches From Elsewhere (AMC): On the off chance that you're watching this but not "Better Call Saul" this show starts 25 minutes later than usual due to Saul's season finale. Tonight "Simone, Peter, and Janice explore new areas of interest while Fredwynn finds it hard to let go." (because of course he does!)

(KISSES FINGERS!) THIS WOT IS MAGNIFIQUE!!!! ENJOY!!!
