What's On Tonight (Friday): 'Strike Back' One Last Time & 'Bosch' Returns

Hello Everybody---Longtime Cinemax staple "Strike Back" the action filled espionage show that's been kicking around since roughly 2011 comes to a conclusion tonight. I know Jay S was a fan! Meanwhile Titus Welliver's bedeviled cop Harry Bosch returns for a 6th season via Amazon Prime. Also I can't believe its on its 6th season already--It feels like it only premiered like two or three years ago! I caught the first two seasons of it and quite liked it and also marveled at how strong its character actor game was, so we'll see what familiar faces pop up in its current season--well not me, I still have three other seasons to catch up on, but you fine folk on the other hand...This is What's On for Friday April 17th 2020

Streaming:

Bosch (Amazon Prime): The 6th season of this cop drama returns

Home (Apple TV):

The King (Netflix):

Too Hot To Handle (Netflix): (cue Brewfan's posting of the Bobby Brown song from Ghostbusters 2)

Black AF (Netflix):

Star Wars-The Clone Wars (Disney +)

Broadcast:

MacGyver (CBS): When Mac is put into a dream state in order to recall key evidence found in Nicholas Tesla's secret lab that could help stop Codex's deadly plot, he encounters dream versions of Tesla, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and his mom. (Awww that's nice that his subconscious threw his mom in there)

The Blacklist (NBC): A case forces Liz to have to choose between the task force and Red; Red meanwhile tries to calm down a panicked Illya Koslov who believes himself to be under surveillance. (He is!)

Shark Tank (ABC): A fried food empire; a gardening product; a unique approach to exercise classes; a service that connects students to local artists. (Judges????)

Friday Night Smackdown (FOX): Smackdowns are once again given out, handed down, and yes, passed around. HAPPY FRIDAY HOCKEY MIKE!!!!

Charmed (The CW): An urgent problem leads Mel and Maggie to seek help from their dad; Macy meanwhile discovers a shocking secret about her past. (What could possibly be that shocking at this point???) (Her dad was actually polka king Frankie Yankovic--making her the long lost sister to Weird Al???) (That was me coming up with my own plotline for the show--I'd watch that!)

RuPaul's Drag Race (VH1): The drag queen contestants must create and market ridiculously extravagant products for the new lifestyle drag queen brand "Droop" (So is this Droop company just outsourcing their Product and Development to reality show contestants now???)

Gold Rush (Discovery)

With Love, Christmas (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the Night is this one where "With Great Christmas Comes Great Love"  (No i'm kidding) "Melanie is excited and more than a little worried when she is assigned her office crush for Secret Santa"  Starring Emile Ullerup, and Arron O'Connell.

9:00

Magnum PI (CBS): Magnum and Higgins go under cover as a couple on a romantic bus tour (ah yes what could be more romantic than sitting on a bus!); a love bird on the bus is murdered however and evidence is quickly deteriorating in the hot, hot heat, can Mags solve this one in time? (what are you new here?); TC is shaken when he runs into a former ex girlfriend. (CBS! CBS! CBS!)

The Blacklist (NBC): For some reason NBC is giving us a bonus episode of this show tonight but its also a rerun which is weird because i can't remember the last time NBC actually ran a rerun of this show! From October we have an episode here that focuses on Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix)---"Cooper's moral compass is tested when an officer long thought dead and someone he had served in Iraq with as a younger man turns up alive as a POW" (Dun Dun Dunnnn)

20/20 (ABC): Rerun from September of the 2 hour Sigfried and Roy interview. (Awww)

Dynasty (The CW): Blake gets closer to finalizing an important deal; Crystal's big charity event approaches; Fallon seeks the perfect wedding gift for Liam; and Sam gets a lesson in friendship from Colby.  (The episode is titled "You Make Being A Priest Sound Like Something Bad")  (I was thinking it was gonna be "You Give Being A Priest A Bad Name")

Somewhere South (PBS): Chow, Chow a Southerm relish is celebrated at the Chow Chow culinary festival in Asheville North Carolina; Indian and Sri Lankan pickles; Puerto Rican escabeche; and a Korean Kimchi also all get profiled in "Meet A Pickle"

Pawn Stars (History): Rick travels to Boston to get a deal on a historic Red Sox baseball collection; Corey targets an interesting WW2 jacket; Corey and Chum learn some new tricks from a vintage Magic Set; a fossil hand print sends Corey digging for the truth.

Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives (Food): In Logan Utah, a joint serving Louisiana specialties like blackened chicken pasta and a marrow butter burger; In Portland Oregon, a place puts a vegan spin on Israeli flavors; and in Denver a pizza place is all about serving Detroit style pizza. (Detroit style?)

10:00

Blue Bloods (CBS): In yet another rerun episode--Danny and Baez investigate the death of a woman at a men's club; and Frank finds himself caught in the middle of a love affair between an IA chief and the spouse of a law enforcement official. (It seems to be that Frank wouldn't sanction such tomfoolery!)

Dateline (NBC): When a daughter finds her dad dead in his home, police think the suspect is close to home, but she suspects that his former profession as an FBI agent might have played a role.

Julia Child (PBS): "The Potato Show"----has Julia's presentation of potatoes throughout her show and Jacques Pepin talks about Julia's love of butter. (Ok) At 10:30 we have "To Roast A Chicken" which focuses on Julia's presentation of cooking chicken throughout her show. (Oh Boy!)

Pawn Stars (History): I believe its a clip show that focuses on the coolest vehicles to drive into the shop including a one of a kind rock crawler; a collection of restored Indian head motocycles; a custom gasler that can reach 192 mph; and a John Deere ice cream machine.

Strike Back (Cinemax): And finally Top Pick of the Night goes to this again longtime Cinemax staple (At least of the past decade) reaching its end point with "After receiving shocking intel from an unlikely Russain informant, Section 20 decides to reunite for one final mission to track down Arianna and avenge their comrades; however this time they're doing things a little bit differently." (I'm guessing explosions will occur tho no matter how different they decide to do things) (See Jay S? I told you I'd give it top pick for its finale!)

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND YOU GUYS AND GALS---I HOPE EVERYTHING STAYS SANE!!!
