Totally Tunes: Where Everybody Knows Your Name

TV shows can be great for the script, performances, and all that jazz... but can a TV show be truly great without a memorable theme song? Nowadays, more and more shows are giving up on the art of theme songs, which is partially understandable, and partially straight up blasphemy. So on this article I'll be honoring some memorable TV tunes, some of yore, some of now, and of course you'll be invited to share your favorites at the end.

I'll kickstart with the theme song that gave this article its subtitle, a song that's pretty much a classic:





This theme song was 100% one of my favorite songs ever back when I was a kid:


Of course no "best theme song" list can call itself that without the number one best Star Trek theme ever...

But the network master of contemporary TV theme songs is, without a doubt, HBO. If only because it gave us this masterpiece of the small screen:
