Also Finishing Out their respective runs tonight are the current season of Project Runaway (is there a way for something to be a Co-Top Pick tonight???) and CBS freshmen sitcoms The Unicorn and Carol's Second Act....both of which I'm not too sure about for a 2nd season (If you'd have asked me like a month or 2 ago i'd of said Unicorn was a sure bet while Carol was a true coin toss--but Unicorn's ratings have trended downwards since then causing Mom to also go down, which is never a good sign--Carol however remains more or less at the same level it always was) This is What's On for March 12th 2020.
Streaming:
Picard (CBS All Access): "When devastating truths behind the Mars attacks are revealed, Picard realizes just how far many will go to preserve secrets stretching back generations; meanwhile the La Sirena crew grapples with secrets and revelations of their own" (I still havn't seen this show as of yet, but the synopsis all seem to paint a rather dark picture of the era of the show as opposed to the occasionally whimsical or fanciful mood the original TNG could occasionally take)
Devs (Hulu): "Lily returns to work at Amaya and explains her suspicions to Jen and Anya; Forrest is visited by Line--a powerful senator asking questions about the Devs project" (As i imagine are the viewers of the show right????)
Hospital Playlist (Netflix): New South Korean hospital drama promises to be uplifting yet also keeping in all the American hospital show cliches we all know and love (Does this count as timely???)
Broadcast:
8:00
Young Sheldon (CBS): When George Sr. accidentally lands the school librarian in the hospital, the Cooper family must nurse her back to health (classic!); Meemaw gives Georgie relationship advice. (You know the show doesn't often pair the two of them up in a storyline, so I kinda like this just for that alone!)'
Superstore (NBC): Rerun (sorry Evil Lincoln!)
Last Man Standing (FOX): Mike finds out that Ed is skipping Outdoorman's annual bass festival for Bonnie's fancy art gala; Mandy takes over festival planning for Kristin; and things don't go as planned for anyone in any of the plotlines. (Well i mean i could've predicted that!)
Station 19 (ABC): The crew responds to the scene of an accident caused by a drunk driver; Dean receives some advice from Pruitt; Sullivan seeks help for his addiction from Dr. Amelia Shepard. (So they're just leaning on cross-over events with Grey's Anatomy now full time as if its no big deal, which i guess it isn't seeing as how one character on this show is married to a character on Grey's)
Katy Keene (The CW): Katy gets into a sticky situation with her clients; Pepper is confronted about what she is up to but is surprised about the proposal she receives instead; Jorge learns he might be losing his coveted performance spot over at Molly's Crisis. (shrugs) (sorry Katy--nothing personal, that was just my reaction to your plotlines this week!)
All of my Heart (Hallmark): Red, red wine, you make feel so fine, you keep me rocking all of the time, red, red, wine, i love you right from the start, right from the start, with all of my heart, red, red, wine, i love you right from the start, right from the start, with all of my heart, red, red, red, wine, (Starring Lacey Chabert!) (Thoughts of you fill my head)
8:30
The Unicorn (CBS): As Grace prepartes to attend her first dance, Wade strongly feels Jill's absence and leans on his friends even more; Wade, Forrest, Delia, Ben, and Michelle all reflect on growing older and the changes that have happened in the past year. (Do you think this'll get a 2nd season???) (CBS seemed to still be promoting it fairly aggressively as recently as January--of course its March now....)
Brooklyn 9-9 (NBC): Captain Holt deals with a personal loss; Jake must decide whether to take Terry or Charles with him to an exclusive event. (Charles)
Outmatched (FOX): After realizing they have lost most of their adult friends since having kids; Mike and Kay try to befriend parents from Brian and Nicole's school; Marc tries to find a sense of humor. (Well its always in the last place you look?????)
Everything's Gonna Be Ok (Freeform):Top Pick of the night goes to this Amadeus approved show (I'm not trying to curry favor with him by making this Top Pick tonight or anything) (do you think its working???) "Matilda is inspired for her future, the family navigates NYC teaching Matilda how to ride the subway, Genevieve has a thing she wants to do which will result in a big reveal, and Nic starts to dream of a future with fewer responsibilities." (Good Luck with that Nic!!!!) (I've never actually seen this show, but its got some good word of mouth from some folks here and that's usually good enough for me!)
9:00
Mom (CBS): Christy, Bonnie, and the others step in to help when Marjorie babysits for her granddaughter for the first time. (Episode title--"A Judgy Face and Your Grandmother's Drawers")
Will and Grace (NBC): Jack helps Karen sneak into the manse to retrieve her ring, but they're both shocked to find it on the hand of Stan's new girlfriend; While hosting Will's surrogate baby mama for the weekend, the titular duo bemoan the old folks they think they're turning into that they swore that they'd never become. (That'll happen with enough time I guess)
Deputy (FOX): When Charlie and Jospeh arrest a man who is on his way to a major drug deal, they end up in a bigger fight than either expected; Back at the station, Cade and Teresa continue to deal with the complication in the adoption of their foster children. (DEPPPPUUUUTYYYYY!!!!!!!!!)
Grey's Anatomy (ABC): A wealthy inventor arrives at Grey Sloan and asks Koracick for help; Meredith struggles to save a woman with diabetes who has been rationing her insulin (!!!!); Jo and Link fight to save a young man who fell onto the train tracks. (But What Side of the train tracks did he fall onto????)
Legacies (The CW): Emma suggests the students participate in a group simulation that transports them to a film noir world; Hope, Jessie, Lizzie, MG, and Rafael (anyone else you wanna throw in here show???) they all quickly learn that they must confront their own conflicts or risk facing the genre's catastrophic consequences. (Episode title? "There's A Place Where Lost Things Go")
The Bold Type (Freeform): Jane is overjoyed when her brother, Evan comes to town and she introduces him to Ryan; Adena turns to Kat for help in dealing with RJ which causes more trouble between Kat and the board; Richard and Sutton dive into wedding plans. (nods) (Dive into wedding plans!!!!)
Project Runway (Bravo): The 18th season of Project Runway comes to an end tonight as the remaining designers must put in the final touches on their collections, believe advice from pros while also attempting not to lose their own point of view and its value. Also its game, set, match when Serena Williams joins as a guest judge for the final runway. (Rolls eyes--I both kinda like that "game set match" thing, and also kinda hate it at the same time!) Cali will as usual have a live thread for this!
Wife Swap (Paramount): A liberal wife from a politics obsessed household swaps with the super conservative wife of an outspoken gun loving husband. (Wouldn't the opposite of someone who was politics obsessed be someone who couldn't care less about anything political??? I mean yeah liberal and conservative are the obvious opposites, but the true opposite would be apolitical wouldn't it?)
Restaurant Impossible (Food): Greek Tragedy is the name of the restaurant that must be saved this week! (Who would put the word "Tragedy" in the name of an eatery???)
Swamp People (History): Tonight's two hour episode is followed by a brand new spin-off show called "Swamp People: Serpent Invasion" (If you remember what i wrote about the episode of "The Neighborhood" that ran earlier this week---Cedric shot a commercial for his mechanic business and boasted that he got tbe best possible airtime---"Right between episodes of Swamp Truckers and Swamp Wives" See we all thought he was kidding when he said that--but surely someone's gonna be advertising inbetween Swamp People and Swamp People Serpent Invasion tonight!)
Gomer Pyle (MeTV): When Gomer and Lou Ann have a quarrel, her ex fiancee appears on the scene to cause more trouble between the two. (Shazam?!?!?!?)
9:30
Carol's Second Act (CBS): The real Top Pick of the night (You know in my heart of hearts I wanted to make this Top Pick tonight! "Will Carol's Second Act Become Carol's Second Season???" See that headline writes itself!) The first season finale of this show finds Carol being selected to present a case to the entire hospital, but her boyfriend is worried that this could affect his chances of being chief of staff over Dr. Frost whom he is in contention with for the position; Dr. Frost meanwhile makes a startling revelation of his own." (Is it that he also likes Carol??? Oh God I hope i'm wrong on that---there is less than zero chemistry between Patricia Heaton and Kyle MachLaclan but the show hasn't done too much to ship them as of yet, although you know, they're the two older members of the cast so its clearly only a matter of time before the writers try to pair them off)
Indebted (NBC): This horrid sitcom (which you know is gonna have to be Top Pick one of these weeks) soldiers on with "Deb's big brother Art is coming to town, and a trickle down of each family member pawning off favors onto one another ensues" (I wonder what my Top Pick headline would be for this one. "Don't Watch Indebted Because Its Good, Watch Because Its Perfectly Terrible??????")
Green Acres (UPN) (No i'm only kidding, its MeTV): Oliver tells Lisa a tale about a frontier farm wife hoping to make her appreciate their life at the farm. (Good Luck Oliver!)
10:00
Tommy (CBS): The mayor pressures Tommy to quickly solve a high profile kidnapping that captures the attention of the media and spawns a circus. (But everybody loves a media circus right?????)
Law and Order Special Victims Unit (NBC): Rerun episode from October has a teenager girl assaulted in the projects leading to a startling revelation for Capt Benson. (That startling revelation??? You guessed it--Frank Stallone!!!) (Yes i know that doesn't make any sense!!!!)
A Million Little Things (ABC): On of one year anniversary of Jon's death, everyone of the show reflects on how much their lives have chanced in the one year since then; Eddie's dream opens up a mystery. (Yeah Eddie's working, building a mystery.....) (I'm guessing given the premise of this week's episode, its gonna be a rather somber hour, but maybe they'll manage to shoe-horn in some humor in there somewhere????) (James Roday is usually pretty good at sneaking in a couple stealthy snarky one liners in there--he may actually be underrated as an actor!)
Better Things (FX): Sam gives her friends a marital intervention. ("I declare marital law!!!!")
Vegas Chef Prizefight (Food): Apparently this premiered last week and i forgot to list it. Its yet another competition show involving chefs--this time in Vegas! (nods) (immediately shrugs) I don't know why either!
Impractical Jokers (Tru TV): ???????????? (I'm putting question marks here cause last week's episode was marked specifically as their season finale--and yet my cable guide has tonight's episode being labeled as a new episode titled "Slam Dunks" tho there's no episode synopsis available on there. Sooooo maybe its new, maybe its not...maybe its Maybelline!!!!!!)
THAT"S ALL I GOT FOR THE NIGHT---HOPE YOUS GUYS HAVE A GOOD THURSDAY TOMORROW!!!!
