What's On Tonight (Sunday): Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful (space) trip

Avenue 5 (via Giphy)
Ahoy and welcome to the 2,748th edition of What's On Tonight! HBO's so-called comedy Avenue 5 gets the Top Pick honor on this first day of March. The premise is simple: After a incident, a space cruiser gets off course and will take years, not weeks, to get back to Earth. Created by Veep's Armando Iannucci, everyone is an a-hole who hates people and the plot continues to spiral with nearly everyone being inept and prolonging the crisis. Elsewhere, the Doctor fights the Cybermen, Bart has spoiler power, AMC dispatches Dispatches from Elsewhere, Secrets of the Zoo goes Down Under, Jeff Piccirillo receives a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Ann Robinson returns to fight Martians. If you're all alone / When the pretty birds have flown / Honey, I'm still free / Here's what's on TV... for tonight, Sunday, March 1!

STREAMING / EARLY PRIMETIME

War of the Worlds πŸ“Ί (Heroes & Icons, 7 p.m.): The aliens trek to Canada in order to free more of their sleeping brethren. The Blackwood Project's only hope in finding them lies in the scattered mind of War of the Worlds veteran Sylvia Van Buren (Ann Robinson!).✔️

πŸ•— EASTERN / πŸ•– CENTRAL

Columbo πŸ“Ί (MeTV, 8 p.m.): The manager of a football team murders its callow owner, making it look as if the young man had had an accident in his swimming pool.

Doctor Who (BBC America, 8 p.m.): FINALE. Whew... that cliffhanger. Amirite? In the season finale, the Cybermen are on the march! As the last remaining humans are ruthlessly hunted down, Graham, Ryan, and Yaz face a terrifying fight for survival. So when you're near me, darling can't you hear me, SOS! Also: Galifrey?! The Master?! Will there be a Captain Jack appearance??✔️

Our Cartoon President (Showtime, 8:30 p.m.): Cartoon Joe Biden pursues Cartoon Barack Obama's prized endorsement in hopes of clinching the nomination. Cartoon Kellyanne Conway must convince Cartoon Trump that his fabled and impossibly positive internal polls actually do exist.

Outlander (Starz, 8 p.m.): The growing Regulator threat forces Jamie, Claire, and Roger to embark on a mission to raise a militia. This sounds like something out of The Clone Wars.

Raven's Home (Disney Channel, 8 p.m.): When Booker's new friends try to influence him to try vaping, he turns them down. However, Booker later takes the fall when his friends get caught and claim that the vape pen belongs to Booker.

Doctor Who (via Giphy)

πŸ•˜ EASTERN / πŸ•— CENTRAL

ABBA: Secrets of Their Greatest Hits (Reelz, 9 p.m.): SPECIAL. A special that is all about ABBA and how it created its hit songs. Viewers will be smiling, having fun! Feeling like a number one!✔️

Bob's Burgers (Fox, 9 p.m.): Tina competes against Gene and Louise to write a new school song for Wagstaff. I would like to suggest the ABBA library for inspiration. Bob and Linda battle blinding glare from Jimmy Pesto's new shiny steel awning across the street.

Collector's Call (MeTV, 9:30 p.m.): Get a tour of Errick Spencer's collection of shoes, mostly Air Jordans.

Family Guy (Fox, 9:30 p.m.): Stewie's lush retirement is interrupted by Brian, who brings news that Peter is dying.

Homeland (Showtime, 9 p.m.): "Saul plans an announcement. Carrie gets a surprise." The surprise is probably a call from the NCIS team.

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS, 9 p.m.): Fatima is captured while on a mission and held for ransom, Callen and Sam enlist an undercover CIA agent to help get her back. Is it Carrie Mathison?! I've been watching a lot of Homeland lately.

Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (NBC, 9 p.m.): Zoey is forced to address her own faith and why she was given these powers as she attempts to help her neighbor Mo feel comfortable expressing his true self, which is something I'm not sure the series needs to deeply address (but that's just me). David creates a "big moment" for Mitch. Mamma mia!

⭐ Avenue 5 (HBO, 10 p.m.): The millionaire billionaire Judd, the owner of Avenue 5 and with no understanding of people or science, enlists skipper Ryan, the captain who is actually a complete fake, to help charm guest star Paterson Joseph, a wealthy passenger! The passengers, who are all horribly selfish people, even Ginger and Mary Ann!, become transfixed by a divine image circling the ship. So not the coffins or human waste? Quasi-Professor-ish Rav, head of Mission Control and on Earth, deals with the fallout when the ship's moral quandary hits the media. I tried to enjoy this show. I really, really, really tried.

Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO, 10:30 p.m.): Larry attempts to capitalize on a friend's unexpected death and takes issue with a pattern of discrimination at a trendy restaurant. He also offers his dermatologist's son a job.

Dare Me (USA, 10 p.m.): As tragic news spreads through town, Colette ices Addy out. Beth starts asking questions. Ya know, I'm kinda starting to like Beth these last couple episodes. I never thought I'd say that. Colette... is a mess.

Dispatches from Elsewhere (AMC, 10 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. Jason Segel is stuck in the everyday routine of his mundane life until the day he meets a group of strangers who all have something in common and together they begin an adventure into a world that has been hidden all around them. This anthology also stars Andre Benjamin, Richard E. Grant, and Sally Field.✔️

The Rookie (ABC, 10 p.m.): Nolan takes his son's fiancΓ©e, Abigail, on a ride-along after she shows interest in becoming a police officer. I'm sensing a Ice Cube/Kevin Hart-vibe. Meanwhile, Jackson's relationship becomes increasingly complicated.

Secrets of the Zoo: Down Under (Nat Geo Wild, 10 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. Naomi Watts narrates this 10-part docuseries about the Taronga Zoo, which employs more than 240 keepers who care for 5,000-plus animals.

Slow Burn (Epix, 10 p.m.): In 1972, a plane goes down in Chicago, intensifying suspicions of conspiracy in the Watergate case. Mainstream journalists and intrepid outsiders pursue the truth through Nixon's bid for reelection. Also in 1972: "People Need Love" was released.
