Jeopardy! recap for Tue., Feb. 25

Please welcome today's contestants:

- Sandha, an artist and performer from California,  has an Australian shepherd;
- Christopher, a social studies educator from Florida,  whose Ken Jennings fandom almost started a fire; and
- MacKenzie, a program development director from Oklahoma, got signed photos from her grandmother. MacKenzie entered the game as a six-day champ with winnings of $162,403.

MacKenzie made a big move on DD2 and when Christopher missed DD3 on the last clue of DJ it was all over, with MacKenzie at $20,600 vs. $5,000 for Christopher and $4,400 for Sandha.

DD1, $600 - GEOGRAPHY - Along the Mediterranean there's a French & an Italian this, Italian for "coast" (Christopher won $2,000 from his leading total of $3,400.)

DD2, $1,600 - THAT'S SO 500 YEARS AGO! - One of the largest religious complexes ever built, this temple dedicated to Vishnu was mostly abandoned by 1491 (MacKenzie won $6,000 from her score of $13,000 vs. $9,600 for Christopher.)

DD3 - $1,600 - ANCIENT GREEK THEATRE - Aristotle wrote about drama in his "Poetics" & used this word for the release of strong emotions brought on by a play (Christopher lost $5,000 from his score of $10,000 vs. $20,600 for MacKenzie.)

FJ - FAST FOOD - This sandwich was 1st sold in 1962 as an attempt to give the many Catholics in Cincinnati something to eat on Fridays during Lent

Everyone was correct on the FJ clue, that easily could have been in the top row in round one. MacKenzie added $1,205 to win with $21,805 for a seven-day total of $184,208.

That's before our time: The players couldn't identify a photo of the "notoriously tough interviewer" portrayed in the film "The Insider", Mike Wallace.

Vocabulary vexations: In a category about antonyms, no one could provide the last word in the Orwell quote "War is peace. Freedom is slavery", or come up with the diametric opposite of zenith, "nadir".

Correct Qs:
DD1 - What is Riviera?
DD2 - What is Angkor Wat?
DD3 - What is catharsis?
FJ - What is Filet-O-Fish?
