Grace and Frankie (Netflix, 3 a.m.): PREMIERE. Grace and Frankie are back doing whatever it is they're doing these days. I am really behind on this show. I'll catch up! (I say that a couple times every year.) But there is still one more season before the series wraps up.✔️
Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. Via interviews with friends, players, and insiders, this docuseries examines how Aaron Hernandez went from an NFL star to convicted killer.
Quien a Hierro Mata π₯ (Netflix, 3 a.m.): In this Spanish import, we find a drug dealer looking for rest, a nurse looking for revenge, and a crossroads where no one is safe.
Wisting (Sundance Now, 3 a.m.): The Viggo and Godwin case cross paths and the hunt for the serial killer intensifies as Wisting's worst nightmare becomes a reality.

Barrett-Jackson Live 2020 (Motor Trend, 8 p.m.): Coverage of day 2 from "the World's Greatest Collector Car Auction" in Scottsdale, AZ.
Chicago Med (NBC, 8 p.m.): After a major accident at O'Hare, the E.D. is concerned one of their own is in mortal danger. Will's proposal for a safe injection site goes to the board for consideration.
The CW Dog Honors (The CW, 8 p.m.): SPECIAL. Commemorating talented and laudable puppers, and featuring dog-loving celebrities along with their four-legged family members.
Doctor Who πΊ (Retro TV, 8 p.m.): The Edge of Destruction serial is one of my favorite Classic Who serials because of what it established. It is a bottle episode, set only in the TARDIS and created to fill the original episode count, with the episode exploring the relationships of the four travelers and the capacities of the TARDIS. Even at only two episodes, it isn't a stellar story. It's execution is cheap on several levels, but it was a wonderful episode for properly establishing the relationships of the TARDIS inhabitants. I've always believed freshman shows would be wise to do the same early in their run.

The Goldbergs (ABC, 8 p.m.): Beverly discovers Murray is actually a year younger than they knew so she plans a do-over at celebrating his 50th birthday. Ugh, that storyline sounds terrible. Elsewhere, Coach Mellor attempts to prepare non-athletic Adam for tryouts for pickleball.
Nature (PBS, 8 p.m.): David Attenborough narrates a look at hippopotamuses as they protect their families, face their enemies, and contend with a drought.
Schooled (ABC, 8:30 p.m.): Wilma encourages Ronnie to pursue his dreams of being in a boy band but goes too far when a music video gets out for all of William Penn to see. Meanwhile, the school hires Aunt Julie as the new school nurse which quickly affects her relationship with Coach Mellor.

Almost Family (Fox, 9 p.m.): Julia searches for more information about her mom. When Edie is granted approval to take on her half-brother's pro bono case, she realizes Tim might have had something to do with Chad's change of heart.
Chicago Fire (NBC, 9 p.m.): Pests take over the fire station!! Really. The team must make temporarily bunk with Firehouse 20, where personalities clash.
Criminal Minds (CBS, 9 p.m.): The BAU team investigates a series of seemingly random fatal explosions throughout Kentucky and Tennessee.
Modern Family (ABC, 9 p.m.): Phil pays a visit to his dad after hearing some concerning news about him. Jay gives Claire and Mitch a bunch of their old childhood memorabilia that triggers them to reevaluate a long-held story about their first family vacation. I went through my childhood memorabilia during the Christmas holiday. I felt the need to reevaluate nothing.
Nancy Drew (The CW, 9 p.m.): In "The Mark of the Poisoner's Pearl," the Crisis on Infinite Earths aftershocks begin, soon encompassing the entire CW lineup. Everyone thought the Anti-Monitor was defeated. Yet he still exists, small and nearly out of this realm, so he reaches out to Nancy Drew and company, wanting to escape and get his revenge. Nancy isn't sure who this new spirit-like being is and curiosity keeps everyone present to try (of course, George has doubts) and help him find sustenance. However, such sustenance will only bring the Multiverse to its knees... again! Can Constantine and the rest of the Waverider, now aided by the Winchester Brothers, get to Nancy in time before the Anti-Monitor is released? If they don't, this fight will surely lead them on a journey against time to Atlanta and then Riverdale High!
Party of Five (Freeform, 9 p.m.): It's time for episode three of this series that had a solid premiere and an angsty but acceptable second episode. Emilio renegotiates an unfair business deal. Beto finds out Emilio is dating Vanessa... but is it really dating? Felt more like casually hooking up last week. Lucia attempts to help Matthew, and Val's dependency on her mother takes an unhealthy turn. VAL IS SO ADORABLE.

68 Whiskey (Paramount Network, 10 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. Based on the Israeli television series Charlie Golf One, 68 Whiskey is kind sounds like M*A*S*H or China Beach. It's about a diverse group of Army medics in Afghanistan, mostly played by people I don't know. (I do know Gage Golightly and Beth Riesgraf.) In the pilot, Sam Keeley convinces Jeremy Tardy to join him in a get rich quick scheme which lands them in serious trouble. Cristina Rodlo gets upsetting news, and Keeley and Golightly continue their secret affair. Nicholas Coombe becomes BFFs with a goat.✔️
Chicago PD (NBC, 10 p.m.): A series of deadly acts of vandalism causes tensions to run high in the insular neighborhood of Canaryville. Sounds like a job for Hill and Renko! Meanwhile, Ruzek and Burgess' secret begins to have severe implications for their police work.
Expedition with Steve Backshall (PBS, 10 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. New year, new nature docu-limited series on PBS. Yay! In the premiere, the team, led by Steve Backshall, explores an area where no human has ever set foot, dropping nearly 400 meters into the deepest canyon in Oman.✔️
Good Trouble (Freeform, 10 p.m.): Freeform programming 9 and 10 p.m. rather than 8 p.m.? This is weird. When Malika gets in legal trouble, Callie goes to an old friend for help. Ugh. Mariana deals with the fallout from the arrival of the fixer at Speckulate.
Listing Impossible (CNBC, 10 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. In this HGTV ripoff, L.A. real estate agent Aaron Kirman and his team sell extravagant, multi-million dollar properties. In the premiere, a desperate divorcΓ©e enlists Aaron to help unload her beach house, which has been sitting on the market for three years with zero offers.✔️
The Magicians (Syfy, 10 p.m.): PREMIERE. Season five! Five?! WOT founder Emily VanDerWerff is a big fan. In the premiere, "Penny and Julia go stargazing. Eliot and Margo forget a sandwich."
S.W.A.T (CBS, 10 p.m.): This episode is titled "Bad Cop." Street's foster brother Nate is ensnared in a criminal enterprise that could ruin them both. A ruthless crew uses deadly force while stealing from card casinos, and Buck approaches Deacon to partner on a private security opportunity.
Sistas (BET, 10 p.m.): Sabrina tries to navigate the waters of friendship despite some clashing personalities, and Andi's biggest secret is revealed.
Stumptown (ABC, 10 p.m.): Dex works to find a fellow veteran's birth parents after he discovers that he's adopted. Great, so this episode will probably be emotional for me. Ansel creates a birthday bucket list and enlists Grey's help to complete each item. Plus, Grey goes under cover to infiltrate a car ring operation.
Vikings (History, 10 p.m.): Bjorn returns to Kattegat. Harald gains a measure of revenge on Olaf. In Kiev, interesting news reaches Ivar and Igor about Prince Dir.
