What's On Tonight (Saturday): It's a full house at The Casagrandes

The Casagrandes (via Tumblr)
Buenos dias! Tonight's Top Pick goes to the relatively new Casagrandes, a spinoff of Nickelodeon's The Loud House. It follows Ronnie Anne Santiago and her family when they move in with her relatives at the Casagrandes in Great Lakes City. Yes, it's a children's show, very much in the same animation style as its parent show. But the show is a wonderful showcase of diversity, multi-generational family, and Latino culture. Elsewhere, John Wick hits HBO, Henry Danger returns, Toonami chugs along, and lots of Lee Majors. I might fall from a tall building, I might roll a brand new car, here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, January 11!

πŸ’» STREAMING / EARLY PRIMETIME

Doctor Who πŸ“Ί (Retro TV, 6 p.m.): The Doctor defeats the Eight-Legs but at a cost. Farewell, Third Doctor. A tear, Sarah Jane?✔️

FOR THE RECORDChocolate (Netflix, 3 a.m.); Criminal Confessions (Oxygen, 6 p.m.); Overhaulin' (MotorTrend, 3 a.m.)
Doctor Who, "Planet of the Spiders, Part 4" (via Giphy)

πŸ•— EASTERN / πŸ•– CENTRAL

Rashomon πŸŽ₯ (TCM, 8 p.m.): If you haven't already, watch this cinematic masterpiece. The rape of a bride and the murder of her samurai husband are recalled from the perspectives of a bandit, the bride, the samurai's ghost, and a woodcutter.

⭐ The Casagrandes (Nickelodeon, 8:30 p.m.): The family tries to help Bobby get over his test-taking anxieties. Later, Ronnie and Sid have to decide whether they should borrow money from a lost coin purse they found in the mercado. Another highlight of this series is the design. There's a lot of color in the sets and characters. Though full warning, the characters are rather high energy like The Loud House. Yet, the plots aren't treated as too serious, so the tone never gets that heavy.

Henry Danger (Nickelodeon, 8 p.m.): Henry Danger enters its final stretch! A vigilante in a smiley-face mask punishes Swellviewians for being rude in public. Kid Danger and Captain Man's investigation leads them to the TV set of Mr. Wallabee, a local TV celebrity who hosts a show for children.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum πŸŽ₯ (HBO, 8 p.m.): John Wick is on the run after killing a member of the international assassin's guild, and with a $14 million price tag on his head, he is the target of hit men and women everywhere. I enjoyed this one a lot more than Chapter 2.✔️

Psycho Nurse πŸŽ₯ (Lifetime, 8 p.m.): Do you really need a description? This sounds like the kind of movie that a young Theodore Cleaver would be watching in 2020.

The Fall Guy πŸ“Ί (Decades, 9 p.m.): Spend the weekend with the guy who made Redford such a star and performed with Sally, Bo, Farrah, Cheryl, and Rachel. Though the behind-the-scenes stories come across as the show was rather toxic. In this two-parter, Colt chases a bond jumper who is a government agent on a mission to kill an international terrorist. The government steps in to ensure success and stop Colt. Then things get complicated.✔️
