What's On Tonight (Monday): All American Protects Its Neck As Well As Coop

Gonna Take Myself To The What's On Tonight--Read Til I Figure It Out...Gonna Take Myself To The What's On Tonight---Read Til I Find Something....This Is What's On For January 27th--2020 ba-da-da-da...Gonna Take Myself To The Ol' Town Road...I don't even like that song all that much, but i will admit--its an ear-worm.

8:00

The Neighborhood (CBS): Cedric and Dave's college basketball teams go head to head so Dave takes him as well as their respective sons to the game and their respective rivalries flare up. Also Dave's old friend from Michigan comes out for a visit (which i'm guessing helps Dave feel some hometown pride?) This is actually a rerun from last March (which makes sense as its tied to college basketball which takes place every March and whaddaya know is broadcast on CBS much like this show! Hmm)

America's Got Talent (NBC): A final group of 10 auditions um audition for the judges, and once again four are selected and one gets a golden buzzer which takes them expressly to the finals next week. (So that means a full half of the acts performing tonight are goin home!)

9-1-1 Lone Star (FOX): Judd calks out Owen's preferential treatment of TK; Marjan feels ostracized at her new mosque after another rescue video goes viral; Owen helps Michelle uncover new info about her sister's disappearance. (LOOOONE STAAAAARRRRR!!!!) (I don't know, i was trying to add some excitement there)

The Bachelor (ABC): Peter and the women travel to Cleveland (City of Earthly Delights); Chance Rice performs during a date between Peter and Victoria P; Football people John Cribbs and Hanford Dixon put the women thru a rigorous workout; and a controversial woman becomes a target of rage. (Well now why would they put a controversial woman among the other women on this show??? What are they trying to get them all to fight each other or something here??? Pssshhh) (That's how this show works isn't it)

All American (The CW): This show gets its turn at Top Pick tonight with an episode that's literally titled "Protect Ya Neck" "With Tyrone back out on the street, Spencer gets a little overprotective of Coop since she was the one who ratted him out to the cops; Laura finds herself in charted territory; Coop and Patrice try to get back into a rhythm but things get worse when Coop's jealousy streak comes out"  (Nods) (I hate it when my jealousy streak comes all out into the open like that)

Antiques Roadshow (PBS): Tonight the show hits the town of Bonazaville West Fargo (FRANKO---NORTH DAKOTA ON TV ALERT!!!!) (You have no idea how much I wish the town was named Bazingaville btw--Bazingaville--Man that must be a place of great merriment!)

A Dash of Love (Hallmark): Your Hallmark Channel Movie of the Night is this one where "2 chefs opwn up their own eatery after they are both wrongly fired by their former mentor" (I'm positive i've listed this one before!) Starring Jen Lilley, Brendan Perry, and Peri Gilpin. (Ok I've definitely listed this one before)

8:30

Bob Hearts Abishola (CBS): Rerun of the episode where Bob, his brother and his sister seek to get their mom Dottie to finally make out a will; and Abishola is dealing with her friend Kemi who keeps lying to her about her romantic interest in Chewemecca. (The horny Nigerian pharmacist that Abishola briefly went out with earlier in the fall)

9:00

Undercover Boss (CBS): Replacing what would've been a rerun of All Rise is a new episode of this venerable reality show that I commented just last night was barely even a thing anymore, but I guess I stand corrected as its still here somehow! Tonight we have the CEO of Clean Harbors going undercover. (nods)  Cleeeeeeeeeaaaaannnnn Harbors is the place to be.....Clean Living Is the Life For Me...I just adore a clean view...Darling I Love You...But Give Me Filth Avenue...(Ha! I just came up with that!)

Prodigal Son (FOX): Following a mysterious and catastrophic incident at the precinct, Bright faces an internal affairs audit as Gil and the team worry about his state of mental health following the Junkyard Killer abduction. (Bright's mental health was never exactly stable to begin with, but it looks like he came thru the whole being chained up as prisoner in his father's former protege's basement thing ok enough)

Black Lightning (The CW): Jefferson, Anissa, and Jennifer discover that the ASA is now hunting down the entire Pierce family (but that's them!!!); Lynn does the unthinkable. (I'm guessing this is tied to her new Green Light addiction that we saw on last week's episode???)

No Passport Required (PBS): Houston's Nigerian and West African immigrant community gets profiled here including its cutting edge chefs and its traditional home cooking (Well now wait a minute, which is it--cutting edge or traditional cooking??? BOTH??? You can't do that--can you???)

The New Pope (HBO): After being elected pope and taking the name John Paul Stevenson the 3rd. (What do you mean he was a Supreme Court Justice???); Brannox preaches the imprtance of family, truth , and love in his first public homily and the two cardinals; Ester bonds with Widow Fabiano who offers an unusual solution to her mercy woes. (I was kidding about the name, its just John Paul the 3rd)

Brain Games (Nat Geo): Drew Brees learns how humans have somehow hacked their own brains; Keegan and Drew play a game called Draft Day which shows how the human brain can react quickly and also be flexible at the same time. (BRAINS--They're Just Like Us!)

American Pickers (History): A super sized Chicago machete leaves the guys breathless; Danielle searches for curios at an Odd Fellows Home turned winery. (Hmm)

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Aunt Bee objects to Sgt. Carter's attitude towards Gomer when she visits. (ooh a crossover episode!)

10:00

Bull (CBS): Bull must try to convince a jury that his current client--an entrepreneur who stands accused by the government of fraud after her groundbreaking new water filtration system is revealed to be bunk---Bull tries to convince the jury that she had no criminal intent and was merely carried away by her pie in the sky optimism that she could make this work. (Its a rerun from early October btw--its an alright episode--again its sometimes interesting when the show tries to veer away from defending a wrongly accused person for a crime ep to something that sways a little more grey area)

Manifest (NBC): Michela is pushed into the midst of a high stakes bank robbery perpetrated by a mystery assailant; As Ben and TJ piece together an arcane set of mythological clues; Adrian draws Olive further into the world of The Belivers. (I'm a Believer, I Could Leave Flight 828 If I Tried)

The Good Doctor (ABC): A terminal cancer patient is determined to live out the last few months of his life without inhibition; Dr. Reznik must confront her relationship with her mom whom comes for a visit to the hospital specifically for a 3rd opinion from Dr. Glassman. (Hey I see the summary writers have dropped the use of the characters full name from their weekly descriptions!) (Dr. Glassman btw is Tobey from The West Wing for those of you who don't watch)

Independent Lens (PBS): The First Rainbow Coalition---Chicago Black Panther Party, the latino group Young Lords organization, and the Young Patriots organization all band together to confront issues such as police brutality, and substandard housing. (shrugs) (Public Issues The Motion Picture! PBS!!!!)

Spy Games (Bravo): This reality show about spying continues a pace with 9 competitors facing a mission that tests their patience, skill, and fortitude (Don't they all???) Their training in lock picking gets put to the test, back at the safe house, suspicions run high over a stolen dossier.

Carter (WGN): Harley and the gang find themselves locked into a cat and mouse game with a British con man. (The episode is titled "Harley Loses A Finger") (Pip, pip, cheerio!)

Beyond the Unknown (Travel): The insect like creature known as The Mothman is profiled; as is the vengeful spirit that haunted Al Capone; and a ghost ship named the Mary Celeste that is found adrift. (shrugs)Richard Gere did it first!!!

Pawn Stars (History): A revolutionary era French gun, a vintage stamp book, Kanye West's jacket (Who is he "The Fonz?"); and a real life recreation of a sword from World of Warcraft.

Cops (Paramount): A hefty prison sentence scares a suspect into running away from an officer' Deputies talk some sense into 2 parents; and police try to contain an irate woman who attacked her ex with a hammer. (Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em!)

THAT"S IT FOR ME FOR RIGHT NOW---HAVE A GOOD MONDAY ONE AND ALL!!!!
