What's On Tonight (Friday): CBS Worlds Collide When Hawaii 5-0 And Magnum P.I Cross-Over

No Blue Bloods does not join in the crossover fun--although to be fair, how would that have even worked? What does one of the family take a vacation in Hawaii and accidentally stumble onto a crime scene? Ooh maybe Danny from Blue Bloods is actually old back in the day friends with Danny from 5-0 and gets asked to investigate a lead in NYC---man now I wish Blue Bloods was crossing over as well...Anyways this is what's on for January 3rd 2020.

Streaming:

Netflix has the 3rd season of something called Anne With An E (Apparently its a re-imagining of Anne of Green Gables and apparently people are upset that it was cancelled prior to this 3rd season airing so no one knows if this is gonna actually have an actual ending or a cliffhanger ending...)

Netflix also has the premiere of a new Spanish language film called "All the Freckles In the World" (A 13 year old boy is immune to 1994 World Cup Fever until he realizes that the object of his affections is super into soccer)

Amazon has a pair of  new comedy specials from both Ilana Glazer (ooh!) and from Jayde Adams as well as  something called "James May: Our Man In Japan" (I don't know who that is either!)

Disney Plus has new episodes of The World According To Jeff Goldblum and High School Musical The Series

Apple Plus has new episodes of The Servant and Truth Be Told

Broadcast:

8:00

Hawaii 5-0 (CBS): When a list of undercover CIA agents is stolen, the team enlists the help of the team from Magnum P.I. to get it back and protect national security. Higgins gives Tani some personal advice.  (Now i'm curious who brings Magnum to McGarrett's attention--i mean several of 5-0's secondary and tertiary characters have made appearances on Magnum already so maybe Kamekona???)

Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways (NBC): Rerun/Filler--Lincoln Rhymes is premiering in this timeslot next Friday!

American Housewife (ABC): Rerun of the episode where Katie asks Oliver for help in getting her homemade lasagna business noticed out there in the public eye and Greg ponders a change of career as he battles writer's block.

Friday Night Smackdown (FOX): Smackdowns are once again handed out and passed around indefinitely. (Well not indefinitely, just for two hours)

Penn and Teller Fool Us (The CW): Rerun!

8:30

Fresh Off the Boat (ABC): Another rerun--this time of the season premiere that saw little Evan developing feelings for one Brandi Chastain and Eddie and Louis both seeking to give him "the talk" (My older nephew is actually scheduled to have his "the talk" at some point in the coming year---at one point during Christmas, my sister mentioned to me that his class at school is gonna be covering sex ed later this year and my nephew said "what was that?" and she said "Your class is gonna be getting a special talk later this year" and my nephew said "Is this gonna be Sexual???" which made me crack up...cause this is a kid who instinctively runs away from a girl anytime one asks him anything) (I know that feeling well)

9:00

Magnum PI (CBS): When Junior of the Hawaii 5-0 team is kidnapped and used as leverage to retrieve the stolen list of undercover CIA operatives, Tani and Quinn ask Magnum and co for their help. (While i appreciate them asking Magnum for his help, the 5-0 team has access to all different kinds of law enforcement units, why are they asking for Magnum's help when they could theoretically go to like a SWAT unit--they could've asked Shemar Moore for help!!!!) (Matthew his show is based in L.A. tho, why would an L.A. based SWAT team  head to Hawaii to help with the extraction of a Hawaii law enforcement personnel???  Umm National Security???)

Dateline (NBC): After a woman goes missing on Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest, authorities suspect that the perpetrator was reenacting a horror movie. (Rerun from 2011!)

20/20 (ABC): Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight escape their Cleveland kidnapper's home after being held in captivity for over a decade.

Whose Line Is It Anyways (The CW): 2 back to back reruns from last July.

Country Music (PBS): For those who had an interest in the Ken Burns doc that aired back in September--it is being rerun on Friday nights throughout this month (and most likely next month as well?) starting with Part 1 tonight!

Gomer Pyle (MeTV): Gomer gets a kiss for singing a song at a nightclub, Sgt. Carter sees this and thinks he can do the same, but when he can't, he gets jealous of Gomer and his voice. (Shazam Sgt. Carter!)

Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (Food): A Jamaican joint serves oxtail and fried chicken in Richmond VA; a sandwich spot in Reno puts a unique twist on the breakfast burrito.

Kindred Spirits (Travel): New series premieres and of course it being on the Travel Channel means its all about paranormal activity and the people who chase after said activity. (These are their stories--Dun Dun)

Surviving R. Kelly (Lifetime): 2 more hours of horrific stories of people dealing with the singer and the things he forced them to do onto him. (Again i ask--how is this an ongoing show???) (Well R. Kelly did that many bad things apparently!) (Yeah but enough horrible things to base an entire show around???) (Maybe)

Gold Rush (Discovery): Parker gambles big and splits his crew in search of a massive score; Rick calls in a mining legend to help save his otherwise miserable season. (And who pray tell is this mining legend??? That's right--you guessed it--Frank Stallone!) (I wish!)

9:30

Green Acres (MeTV): A paint company offers to spruce up Lisa and Oliver's farmhouse for free for some reason. (I wonder what the reason is now!)

10:00

Blue Bloods (CBS): Returning with new episodes after taking most of December off is Tom Selleck and co with "After an EMT is shot and killed, Danny and Baez work to determine who is behind a string of ambulance robberies; Frank defends the NYC homeless population after the new mayor (Dylan Walsh) puts a new law into effect that threatens them; and Eddie offers to help Jamie pay off his student loans" (Jamie doesn't have any money, i mean maybe she has some savings, but she couldn't possibly have enough to cover Jamie's student loans; also Frank defends the NYC homeless population?!?!?!? That's not something i thought i'd ever see on this show quite honestly!)

Ghost Loop (Travel): I don't know what this show is about either but I'm guessing since its airing on The Travel Channel and its got Ghost in the title, its yet more paranormal activity stuff. (Remember when The Travel Channel was actually about Travel???)

THERE REALLY ISN"T ANYTHING ON OUTSIDE OF CBS TONIGHT IS THERE???? I MEAN THAT"S FINE WITH ME CAUSE I GOT MY CBS CBS CBS, BUT WHAT ABOUT YOU FINE AND LOVELY PEOPLE?!?!?!?? CBS? CBS? CBS?  HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND IN ANY CASE!!!!!
