Here are today's contestants:

- John, a slot floor person from California, was a 5-year-old GPS. John entered the game as a one-day champ with winnings of $29,001.


John opened a huge lead in round one, didn't make a net profit on the two DDs he found in DJ, but was still never threatened, entering FJ with $22,800 vs. $5,800 for Christine and $1,200 for Justin.

DD1, $400 - NEW ON THE BOOKSHELF - Christy Lefteri's "The Beekeeper of Aleppo" details a married couple's flight from this war-torn country  (John won $5,000 from his total of $8,400 vs. $1,800 for Christine.)

DD2 (video, picture of a dark-colored four-legged beef animal standing in a field), $1,200 - GET YOUR "B.A." DEGREE - This hornless breed is named in part for a place in Scotland (John lost $3,400 from his score of $14,600 vs. $1,800 for Christine.)

DD3, $800 - NATIONAL COATS OF ARMS - Mexico's coat of arms has a nopal, a type of cactus that also has this alliterative name (John won $3,200 from his total of $14,800 vs. $4.600 for Christine.)

FJ - FAMOUS NAMES - A new election day ritual is leaving "I voted" stickers on the headstone of this historic woman at a Rochester, New York cemetery

Everyone was correct on a simple FJ that could just as easily have been a top-row clue. John added $710 to win with $23,510 for a two-day total of $52,511.

Triple Stumper of the day: In the "B.A." category, no one knew the prehistoric period that fits the category is the Bronze Age.

Judging the judges: On a clue that wasn't clear if it specifically wanted a title or a "noble name" from a title, Christine was initially given credit for "Lord Greystoke". After the break, the judges decided to take her winnings away, but not penalize her.

This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. She had the correct information, the clue was vague, so she deserves the money. Since they didn't do that, the best alternative is put another clue on the board to replace the bad one so the players have a chance to earn the clue's value.
