What's On Tonight (Thursday): Doctor Who Makes An Unexpected New Christmas Episode After All!

I know, I was surprised! I thought with the new season arriving here so soon (Season 12 of the revival series is set to premiere on January 1st!) that they wouldn't be doing a Christmas episode this year, but apparently that was an incorrect assumption to make! If you're not a fan of Doctor Who, I don't really know what to tell you as there's not really much else on.

Streaming:

Netflix as usual has a couple things premiering---

1.)You (Season Two!):  This former Lifetime show starring Penn Badgely as an obsessive stalker was apparently successful enough for Netflix that they decided to step in and fund a 2nd season after Lifetime said "G'night Stalker" to the show and pulled the plug last fall. (I actually watched that first season of the show when it was on Lifetime and it was some creepy, creepy stuff! But it was well acted by Badgely, and the show dangled one heck of a cliffhanger at the end of each episode which certainly got me hooked and I'm certain that played a significant part in it being bingewatched as much as it apparently was--but this would honestly seem to be a premise with a limited run at best. How many seasons can they possibly get out of "A young guy who runs a bookstore obsessively stalks various women???")

2.) Fast And Furious: Spy Racers: A new animated series based on the movies about a group of teenagers trying to infiltrate an elite racing league controlled by an organization bent on world domination. (And they're gonna use the awesome-o power of driving really really fast to do this somehow???)

3.) Bonfires of Destiny: New French language program about "During a fire in 1897 Paris, 3 women see their lives flip turned upside down when a couple guys, they were up to no good and started making trouble in their neighborhood, they got in one little fire---sorry that got away from me---3 women see their lives turned upside down by forbidden love, identity theft, betrayal, and emancipation."

4.) A movie called "The App" which looks to be of Italian language "While in Rome to shoot his first movie, actor and industrial heir Nick becomes obsessed with a dating app that threatens to literally take over his life" (Literally???)

Broadcast:

Young Sheldon (CBS): Rerun of the one where Pastor Jeff relies on Mary too much when his marriage falls apart with the subplot being Sheldon and Missy trying to strong-arm people into donating money to the church.  (Its no surprise that the subplot is a lot better than the A story, I'd have loved to seen a Leave It To Beaver ep where Beave learns how to best manipulate people to donating money to charity)

9-1-1 (FOX): Rerun

Happy New Year Charlie Brown (ABC): Happy New Year Charlie Brown?!?!?!? Man ABC does not waste any time when it comes to running appropriate holiday related Charlie Brown specials!

IHeartRadio (The CW): Highlights of the neverending concert filler shows.

8:30

The Unicorn (CBS): rerun of course---Wade freaks out over the fact that he's the sole guardian for his two kids when his flight gets delayed and he thinks "if this plane goes down--who's gonna take care of my daughters?!?!?!?" (Wade buddy, didn't you and your wife already designate who would get custody in case something happened to the two of you before you had them???)

9:00

Mom (CBS): Bonnie finally gets her butt in therapy---Rainn Wilson plays the therapist in what will become a recurring role on the show for him!--Christy develops a serious gambling addiction. (Yeah i know, I didn't understand how that was possible either--you have to have money in order to gamble it away don't you???)

Dolly Parton's Coat Of Many Colors (NBC): Rebroadcast of this 2015 TV Movie that she made in which a young Dolly and her family (played by Jennifer Nettles and Gerald McRainey!) must circumnavigate various troubles. (You like my use of the word circumnavigate here right???)

The Moodys (FOX): Rerun of the third hour of the program whose first two hours were rerun on Christmas night. (There were only three hours)

The Greatest American Baking Show (ABC): Its The Great Baking Show Charlie Brown!!! (Good Grief!) (I"m kidding, there's sadly no affiliation with Charlie Brown in this competitive baking show)

Legacies (The CW): Rerun of the show's season opener. (That's nice that The CW is rerunning episodes of the show--I don't think they've actually ran reruns of any of their other shows this past week!)

Doctor Who (BBC): FINALLY TOP PICK! The TARDIS arrives on a human colony that appears to be a holiday camp where the happiness of the inhabitants raises suspicions. (nods) NEW WHO! NEW WHO! NEW WHO! (SOMEBODY ALERT EVIL LINCOLN POST HASTE!!!)

9:30

Carol's Second Act (CBS): Carol becomes the envy of the other doctors when she's assigned a newly injured star football player, but she quickly becomes frustrated dealing with his coach, and entourage, preferring to speak directly to his mother. ("Because Moms Understand Other Moms")

Green Acres (MeTV): In his ongoing bid for romance, Eb turns the Douglas farm into a dump yard.  (Wait what???\ Does that sentence make any sense to anyone here???)

10:00

EVIL (CBS): Rerun---someone confesses to a murder while in a trance or something and its up to our heroic trio to either prove or disprove said murder took place (CBS! CBS! CBS!)

The Carbonaro Effect (Tru TV): At a thrift store, Michael transforms a t-shirt that's suitable for all four seasons; At a daycare, his aid thinks she loses more than just her mind; In a museum Michael's helper runs scared when a sculpture starts to slither on away. (Ohhh That Carbonaro And His Effects!)

I THINK THAT'S ALL I GOT WRITTEN DOWN HERE---BUT THAT'S ENOUGH RIGHT? WHAT MORE COULD YOU POSSIBLY NEED HERE???? I LISTED THE BROADCAST NETWORKS AND NETFLIX!!!  HAPPY THURSDAY ONE AND ALL!!!!
