What's On Tonight (Monday): His Dark Materials Comes To An End, Hopefully They'll Be Some Light Let In

Hey everybody, there is absolutely nothing on tonight on either the networks or even the cable channels...its like everyone decided to take off the week...but in pressing on, here is What's On December 23rd 2019

8:00

The Price Is Right (CBS): A 2nd night of primetime Price Is Right this time with Seth Rogen playing to raise money for the charity his wife founded. (nods)

Holidays With The Houghs (NBC): A quick rerun of this would be holiday sketch variety special featuring the titular siblings.

9-1-1 (FOX): Fox is opting for reruns of its usual Monday night lineup tonight.

Same Time Next Christmas (ABC): Another quick rerun of this tv movie that was first shows week before last with Lea Michele on vacation with her fiancee for the holidays running smack dab into the former love of her life who's still pining for her.

Christmas Carol Competition (The CW): The CW tries to get in on some quick holiday action with this reality competition show about dueling Christmas carolers. (Well its an idea I guess)

Antiques Roadshow (PBS): Rerun from October of 2016 has Mansion Masterpieces (That's not a city or town!) including "a 1907 Robert Henri oil painting, a late 19th century diamond marriage jewel, and an English grillwood cabinet stand."

Monday Night Football (ESPN) Green Bay Packers Vs. Minnesota Vikings

A Very Vintage Christmas (Lifetime): I've listed this before but an antiques shop owner finds a box of mementos and sets about trying to locate the owner of said mementos for some reason. Tia Mowery plays the antique shop owner.

Hallmark Channel meanwhile has not a movie, but some two hour special in which various actors and actresses from their stable come together to recollect about good times working on these movies--or something...I'm not entirely sure...but it is something a little different than just another movie being shown here.

9:00

All Rise (CBS): Rerun (of course) that has one of the regulars having to cross examine Judge Lola's mother on the witness stand and conflict is had.

Saturday Night Live Christmas Special (NBC): Various holiday themed sketches are edited together here in this two hour clip show which is the same deal as their Halloween one, and their Thanksgiving one, except now its you know the December based holidays. (Do they have one of these for Valentine's Day??? I'm trying to think what the next one would be--i know they don't do one for Martin Luther King Day even tho i do remember an MLK Day themed sketch that had Topher Grace as the only white guy at a workplace who felt uneasy because everyone else at work was complaining about how they didn't have off for Martin Luther King Day and Topher was like "Yeah why don't we have off damnit????" and Keenan Thompson was like "We?!?!?")

Prodigal Son (FOX): Fox still has the "reruns on Monday night" bluuuuueeeeesssss.

Christmas At Belmont (PBS): Student Musicians at Belmont University put on a Christmas concert. (Its supposed to be nice!)

His Dark Materials (HBO): Top Pick goes to this mini-series ending its run tonight, it also happens to be the only first run scripted show being run tonight, but I'm also really, really glad its here, because i have no idea what i would've made Top Pick tonight otherwise. In the finale "As the Magisterium closes in , Lyra learns more about Asriel's rebellion, and her assistance to him comes at a great personal coast" in an episode called "Betrayal" (What are the odds the miniseries ends with the song "Let The Sunshine In" being played over the end credits? Probably low I'm guessing)

American Pickers (History): Mike and Frank blow the doors off of America's barns searching for some farm fresh picking folklore. (If they knew Michael Caine movies one of them could shout at the other---"You Blew The Bloody Doors Off!!!!")

9:30

Green Acres (MeTV): "Eb's Double Trouble"---Oliver and Lisa attempt to help Eb and Arnold with their respective problems. (nods)

10:00

Bull (CBS): Rerun of last year's season opener in which Bull comes back to work several months after having had a heart attack and has to reassemble everyone who had worked for him, in addition to taking a case for an insurance agency being sued by a dying mother for denying a claim to cover a liver transplant. (Needless to say Bull tries to find a way to help the dying mother, because post heart attack Bull tried to be good even tho this would obviously create a conflict of interest given his paying client is the insurance agency!)

The Good Doctor (ABC): Rerun of the last episode that ran which had Shaun (that's the title character!) overcoming great personal conflict to visit his dying father (whom is not exactly overflowing with sentiment or kindness for the occasion.) If you havn't seen it, it's a real gut punch of an ending (altho i did appreciate how it skirted convention and the easy heartwarming cliche)

Pawn Stars (History): Rick flies across the pond to look at a Star Wars collection, including an iconic prop, a seller phones home with an Ewok, and a new employee works with Corey to make a deal on a Planters jar.   (Pawn Stars...Nothing but Pawn Stars...Them Crazy Pawn Stars...Oh How They Pawn!)

Holiday Baking Championship (Food): Its the finale of the Holiday Baking Championship!!!!!!!!!!!!! (!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! !!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!) (its in morse code!)

Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe (Hallmark):  Lacey Chabert stars!!!! (of course she does!!!)

YEAH YOU SEE THE LINEUP I HAD TO WORK WITH HERE TONIGHT!!! NOT GREAT BOB! IT GETS WORSE IF I HAD TO COVER 11 O'CLOCK--DO YOU KNOW WHAT I'D HAVE BEEN FORCED TO LIST??? THIS IS GOOD---

11:00

Hometown Horror (Travel): "The Satanic Swamp"  (nods)

SOMETIMES YOU JUST CAN'T MAKE THESE LISTINGS UP!!!! HAVE A GOOD MONDAY GANG!!!
