Politics Corner, December 17th

Donald Trump wrote a letter to Nancy Pelosi. Or as someone suggested in Headlines today, Donald Trump yelled at someone who typed it up. Copies to the House and the Senate and available for the world to see at the White House. It's batshit crazy even for him. I don't know what he hopes to accomplish with this but I'm glad it's now documented history. Can we get this submitted as evidence in the Senate? I bet Trump wants that. [White House]

It doesn't matter how loud Trump whines, Impeachment is inevitable now. The Rules Committee spent this evening setting the rules for debate in the morning. We'll be here with a live blog. There are a lot of Representatives who haven't gotten to yell at TV cameras yet and there will be six hours dedicated to that. Hopefully they'll vote tomorrow. We know how that will go.

Rick Gates got 45 days in jail, probation and a fine in contrast to the prison time that other felons from the Trump circle have received. Why? He cooperated and helped bring Paul Manafort and Roger Stone to justice. It pays to do the right thing and not wait and hope for Trump to be loyal. [Axios]

Purvez Musharraf has been sentenced to death for treason. He won't be executed because he is no longer in Pakistan but this may send a message to the military: stop it. No more military coups. [BBC]
