Jeopardy! recap for Fri., Dec. 6

Introducing today's contestants:

- Katie, a physician from New Jersey, couldn't get an Alex Trebek varsity jacket;
- Randy, a software engineer from Virginia, goes to video game conventions; and
- Jennifer, a wine-tasting consultant from Michigan, likes big ships, especially the Queen Mary 2. Jennifer is a two-day champ with winnings of $74,800.

Jennifer led at every commercial break and was never seriously threatened, leading into FJ with $22,000 vs. $6,400 for Katie and $4,600 for Randy.

DD1, $600 - RETIRED NUMBERS IN SPORTS - The Seatlle Seahawks retired this number to honor the extra player, the fans (Katie lost $3,000 from her total of $4,000 vs. $10,600 for Jennifer.)

DD2, $800 - THE 20TH CENTURY - In 1954, Russian words meaning "committee for state security" got shortened to these 3 letters for an agency (Randy had $600 and won the window maximum of $2,000.)

DD3, $1,600 - ADJECTIVES - It's from the Latin for "hammer" & refers to metal that can be hammered into a new shape (Jennifer picked up $3,000 from her score of $18,600 vs. $6,600 for Randy.)

FJ - EUROPE - A tourism website for this country noted its colorful history "filled with barbarians", royalty, "& even a movie star"

Only Randy was correct on FJ. Jennifer dropped $6,500 to win with $15,500 for a three-day total of $90,300.

Triple Stumper of the day: No one knew the rest of the title of "Die Hard 2" that was "promising even more", "Die Harder".

Judging the writers: Apparently they still don't understand that they should knock it off with creating offbeat categories that only make sense if players start at the top.

Correct Qs:
DD1 - What is 12?
DD2 - What is KGB?
DD3 - What is malleable?
FJ - What is Monaco?
