What's On Tonight (Tuesday): The FBI Takes A Case Personally

Howdy Party People....This Is What's On Tonight-- November 19th 2019

8:00

NCIS (CBS): The team investigates the murder of a musician in the Navy's elite marching band. (The episode is called "Musical Chairs") (Also wasn't Gomer Pyle a musician in the navy's marching band???? God if Jim Nabors was still alive you just know CBS would find a way to have him guest star--well the CBS of yore would at least)

The Voice (NBC): The Top 13 Eliminations continues onwards as 10 Artists are deemed safe, while the bottom 3 artists compete for the judges' Instant Save pick while one must pack their bags and go home. (this sounds more complicated than i'm sure it actually is)

The Resident (FOX): The doctors work to save one of their own but disagree over what's best for her; Bell is met with an unexpected response when he voices concerns regarding the nursing shortage that Nic brought to his attention. (That unexpected response??? You guessed it--Frank Stallone!) ("Matthew you can't just pull out that Frank Stallone but every time you can't think of a comment to make" "Oh yeah??? Challenge Accepted!!!!")

The Conners (ABC): Chaos ensues when Dan finally gets the entire family together for Thanksgiving dinner; Mixed feelings about The Lunch Box continue to build tension in the house; Harris makes an unexpected move" (That unexpected move??? You guessed it--Frank Stallone!) ("I give up!" "I still got it!")

The Flash (The CW): Barry turns his attention to preparing Elongated Man for life after Crisis with no Flash around :( Cecile faces her own moment of self discovery while helping a recuperating Chester P. Runk redeem his identity. (Do i know who Chester P Runk is???) (Googling him reveals that he was the young guy who caused all those black holes to appear earlier in the season as the black holes kept appearing in places that had emotional attachments to him---how does a black hole fuse with the conscious of a person anyways??? No I don't actually wanna know)

Finding Your Roots (PBS): In a rerun from this past February, Seth Meyers, Tig Notoro, and Sarah Silverman all trace their ancestry.

8:30

Bless This Mess (ABC): Mike and Rio get a taste of the parenting life when they are forced to take care of Portia's six piglets; Kay and Beau may have found common ground during the annual euchre tournament party. (I had to google what euchre is, apparently its a card game...I did not know that!) (Also Kay and Beau are Lennon Parham and David Koechner who play a married couple who've gone splitsville--i don't know why anyone who doesn't watch this would care but i felt the need to explain for some reason.... Is this what Mansplaining is???)

9:00

FBI (CBS): A car crash results in the death of a photographer; Maggie sympathizes with the widow when she notices similarities with her own husband's death. (Well i mean Maggie's husband was murdered because he was digging up dirt; Also don't they teach you in FBI school not to get too personally attached to the case you're working--a rule that every tv agent disregards pretty regularly????)

This Is Us (NBC): The Pearson family gathers for its first Thanksgiving at Randall's Philly townhouse. (That's it??? Only one plotline tonight??? That seems very un "This Is Us" like...I guess then its up to me to make up my own accompanying storylines---Uhhh Jack worries that Kate won't enjoy Thanksgiving as much when she goes on a crash diet to impress a boy at school; Tobey flashes back to when he was 10 and had to watch his own parents endless fighting ruin that year's Thanksgiving for him; and Uncle Leo surprises everyone by having a flashback of his own--Wait there's no Uncle Leo on this show...That's the surprise!!!) (Uncle Leo?!?!?!? HELLOOOO!!!!!)

Empire (FOX): After realizing that music is her real first love, Cookie makes moves to get back into the music world; Luscious tries to regain control of Empire by attempting to sabotage Andre's vision for the company. (Luscious trying to ruin his son's plans for the company would actually rank as a pretty mild Thanksgiving scandal for that family by previous seasons' standards...maybe everyone really is changing!) (No seriously i remember in one of their previous seasons' thanksgiving eps--you had one of them putting a hit out on the other, so this is pretty mild!)

Mixed-ish (ABC): Rainbow's passion for science deflates when her peers convince her that science isn't cool; Harrison works to mold a testimony from Denise (which given how well Denise takes direction, i'm guessing doesn't go well at all); Santamonica tries to steal the spotlight back after Johan suffers an injury.   (You know its a pretty good sign that after only seven episodes or so, I feel like I know the characters on the show pretty well--which is definitely a sign that its a well run show!... I'm still not entirely convinced that Rainbow grows up to become the same Rainbow who's on Black-ish, but that's may be more because of how reserved and how much of a wallflower she is where as the Rainbow on Black-ish is occasionally corny or awkward. You know now that i think on it I guess Young Rainbow kind of is those things too but not as prominently)

Arrow (The CW): Upon figuring out the key to opposing The Monitor. Oliver and the team return to Russia on a mission to gather the necessary materials; Diggle reunites with a figure from his past.  ("That figure? You guessed it...Frank Stallone" "Oh God Matthew, You gotta stop this" "Never!!!")

American Experience (PBS): "Jubilee Singers--Sacrifice and Glory" From May of 2000 (does that make this retro???) "A group of former slaves tries to save its bankrupt school by performing concerts" (If this weren't a PBS doc, I would swear that someone came up with that storyline by throwing darts at a wall of different story ideas) (Its an inspirational true story, its got the never fails "lets save the school by putting on a show" plot, it'll make audiences feel good about the fact that as bad as we are, at least we don't have slavery here anymore--well legal slavery at the very least) (How wasn't this a Disney movie from the early 2000s honestly???)

The Purge (USA): Marcus sinks into the darkness; Esme is on the run; Ben returns home; and Ryan gets an unexpected visitor. ("Don't Say It...Don't You Dare Say It" "That unexpected visitor??? You guessed it...Frank Stallone!") (punches straw hat)

Curse of Oak Island (History): Gary detects a strange stone structure embedded in the swamp, and after years of searching and speculation, the Lagunas get scientific proof that the swamp is young and likely man made.  (Young and most likely man made??? So the swamp is a pair of silicon breasts then????)

Chopped (Food): Contestants must prep a Thanksgiving meal in a set amount of time. (But who determines what the set amount of time should be???)

Life Below Zero (Nat Geo): Arctic Discipline

Moonshiners (Discovery) Season 9 of this show premieres! SEASON 9!!! (shrugs--I didn't know either!)

9:30

Black-ish (ABC): When Dre discovers that Lynette is an art afficionado, the 2 quickly bond and become close; Junior introduces Bow to virtual reality. (Coming next season--Virtual Reality-Ish!) (No wait...Avatar-ish! Perfect)

Green Acres (MeTV): Oliver searches for a special delivery letter addressed to one of the other Douglas clan.  (Douglas Clan??? What are they foot soldiers? Are there Ninjas out there in Hooterville?!?!?!?)

10:00

NCIS New Orleans (CBS): Sebastian calls the team out to assist with a possible kidnapping case; when the dignitary's son that he was assigned to protect disappears from a local concert venue Sebastian needs help to ascertain his whereabouts. (Ascertain??? Seems a little high brow synopsis writer!) (Also CBS! CBS! CBS!)

New Amsterdam (NBC): When an inmate comes in with an unlikely preventable illness; Dr. Amsterdam, Sharpe, and Iggy head directly to the source--Riker's Island (Dun Dun Dunnn); Bloom struggles with her recovery; and Reynolds gets news that could change his life.  (Oh New Amsterdam--You've become much too much!!!)

Emergence (ABC): Jo and Chris rush to find Piper before she's put in harm's way; Jo faces new challenges at home after betraying Alex and Ed's trust.  (Isn't Piper technically in harm's way every week tho? I mean Piper's mere existence kinda puts her in harm's way doesn't it? You might even say that the very act of Piper being onscreen is putting her in harm's way!) (Ehh forget it, its not like anyone really wants to think too closely about any of this--or do they???)

Frontline (PBS): "For Sama" Filmmaker Waad Al Kateeb films her life over a 5 year period documenting the violence raging around her in Aleppo, Syria.   (I love that the synopsis leaves off the location of where the filmmaker is until the end of that sentence--really changes how you view this from having read the beginning of that sentence)

Kings of Pain (History): Adam and Caveman Rob travel to South Africa to see a giant bunk scorpion, the tiny uroplectes scorpion and the highly venomous Iron Fish. ("Iron Fish?!?!?!?" I never realized that was a thing before! It sounds like someone's idea for a spoof of Iron Fist!---Also two different types of Scorpions??? CBS? CBS? CBS?)

Famously Afraid (Travel): Montel Williams explores a haunted cruise ship with psychic Sylvia Browne, Kate Flannery finds a connection to the spirit world; and Richie Ramone checks into a sinister looking hotel.  (Have i mentioned before how much i love the idea of D list celebs being on a paranormal haunted location show before???)

Running With Bear Grylls (Nat Geo): Cara Delevigne in the Sardinia Mountains. (Ok)

Tosh.0 (Comedy Central): I usually don't give a fig but he is wrapping up his latest season tonight. Also wrapping up their current season is the show that follows this at 10:30 on Comedy Central--The Jim Jefferies Show

10:30

The Misery Index (TBS): Learning the misery of having accidental man-boobs, and Q finds out how many volts of electricity the human body can absorb; one of the Tenderloins finds out that they were an accident (Tenderloins???); and the Jokesters must get over some shameful family antics to compete to try and win 30,000 dollars in an episode titled "We Got That D!" (Lovely!)

THAT'S IT FOR TONIGHT FOLKS!!!!
