Happy Thanksgiving Eve Guys And Gals! There's as you would expect, not a heck of a lot tonight, unless you're football fans in which case there's plenty of that! Here's What Is On for November 28th 2019 tho.
Streaming:
The Servant new M. Night Shayamalan exec produced series is making its debut on Apple TV--Will it be any good? It stars Toby Kebbell, Lauren Ambrose, Rupert Grint, (TWO REDHEADS!) and Nell Tiger Free (who???) Its about two new parents who hire a nanny to care for their newborn but "things are not what they seem" (no kidding!)
Meanwhile NETFLIX has a new comedy series called "Merry Happy Whatever" about a young guy trying to win over his girlfriend's dad, with the 8 episodes made set around the week leading up to Christmas (Apparently they would like to be a holiday anthology show with future seasons being set around other holidays--Good Luck!) Its got a good cast as Dennis Quaid (DENNIS QUAID!!!) is the dad and the co-stars are Brigit Mendler, Brent Morin, Ashley Tisdale (She's on Carol's Second Act!), and Hayes McArthur (he was the partner on Angie Tribecca!)
Netflix also has a new French language show called "Mythomaniac" (A woman tired of being taken for granted by her husband and kids fakes a cancer diagnosis to win back affections of her loved ones--How Is That Not A Lifetime Movie?!?!?!?)
They also have a new movie called "Special Holiday Rush" starring Romany Malco and Sonnequa Martin-Green (and apparently Darlene Love is in it as well!) ("A widowed radio DJ and his 4 kids need to tighten their belts financially when times turn lean for them") (I'm guessing he falls in love somewhere along the way???)
8:00
Young Sheldon (CBS): CBS maintains its usual schedule tonight although they're all reruns, but at least they're all here in their usual Thursday night home. Tonight's rerun episode of this show is the one from last season where Missy writes a letter to Alf and he writes back at the very end! (Yes Alf made a cameo appearance on an episode of Young Sheldon. It was glorious! All Hail Alf!) (No that's not the plotline, but its the clear highlight--and really do you need a plotline???)
Football (NBC): New Orleans Saints Vs Atlanta Falcons.
The Masked Singer (FOX): Literally a rerun of the episode that ran on Wed night!
The Wonderful World Of Disney Holiday Magic (ABC): This two hour special takes a look at what its like to celebrate the holidays at Walt Disney World rather than with your family...various singers perform including Shaggy. (I don't know what the point of this one is either--is it a two hour ad for their theme park? Is it a concert special? Is it filler material so they don't have to run reruns on a low rated holiday??? Is it all three????)
I Heart Radio Music Festival (The CW): Yet another two hour concert festival---it could be worse, you guys remember two years back when the network actually tried to air a new episode of Supernatural on Thanksgiving night??? I believe that was their lowest rated episode to date!
Les Miz--The 25th Anniversary Concert Special (PBS): I realize now that this may not in fact be airing on your local PBS affiliate--but if it is, this is a 3 hour program where the London Symphony Orchestra plays the music from Les Miz. (Do you hear the people sing??? Singing the songs of angry men...they're the voices of the people who will not watch football again) (Bazinga)
Forged In Fire: Happy Bladesgiving (History): Yeesh,...look at that title...also how is this not what syfy would call airing the Blade trilogy back to back to back? That's a real missed opportunity there.
8:30
The Unicorn (CBS): Rerun--Wade joins a support group, he realizes he already has a pretty good support group of his own.
9:00
Mom (CBS):Rerun from last January has "Bonnie's smoking causes problems while on a road trip with Tammy; Christy offers some advice to Adam" (Boy i can't imagine that ending well although Adam is a pretty easy going guy--and he'd had to be to have been with Bonnie for as long as he has!)
Almost Family (FOX): I can think of no greater sign of a show being burnt off these days than to have an episode literally aired on Thanksgiving night. It is at least a Thanksgiving based episode as Brittney Snow must have Thanksgiving dinner with her recently discovered siblings. Small talk i'm sure is had. The episode is titled "Thankful AF" (Remember when airing new episodes of tv shows on Thanksgiving tho was actually something the networks did??? I mean its incredible now but there was actually a time when they actually programed new episodes of like Friends and Will and Grace and ER to air here!) (shakes head)
Free Birds (Nick): This animated movie about the two time traveling turkeys gets its now traditional Thanksgiving airing---Starring Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson---it has become a stoner classic from what I understand...although maybe i'm wrong on that???
Bad Santa 2 (Comedy Central): This waaaaaaayyyyy too late comedy sequel (being made 13 years after the first one did) finally makes its basic cable premiere tonight. (Hey I Can Finally See It! CBS! CBS! CBS!) (But the movie isn't airing on CBS--oh no, that was just me being enthusiastic!)
Gordon Ramsey Off the Menu (Nat Geo): Gordon travels to Peru and samples Andelusian cooking in a new episode of his travel show (which ironically doesn't air on Travel as Travel is too busy with "the paranormal" these days to care about actually making travel based shows anymore)
Expedition Unknown Rediscovered (Discovery): Josh Gates does more exploring--this time in America! (AMERICA--FUCK YEAH!!!!)
9:30
Carol's Second Act (CBS): Rerun of the one where the simple case of an old lady may turn out to be more complicated than anyone had initially thought and everyone gets jealous of a case that everyone seemingly dumped on Carol. (About average episode, but its a decent representative of the show itself which is also fairly average)
Green Acres (MeTV): Lisa and Oliver gets trapped in a cave that mysteriously appears and running underneath their property. (If a mysterious cave suddenly appears beneath your farm, you don't go in it!!!!!)
10:00
Evil (CBS): A rerun of the show's 2nd episode with the swimmer who might or might not have been brought back from the dead by an angel. (It was decent enough)
The Goldbergs (ABC): Rerun of last week's very sweet Thanksgiving episode (DAN FOGLER RETURNS!!!!)--followed by a rerun of a non-Thanksgiving episode of Modern Family. (What's even the point then of rerunning this Modern Fam ep??? You could've aired a Thanksgiving based episode of any of your other shows and you opted for yet more Modern Family???)
Gordon Ramsey: Off the Menu (Nat Geo): This time Gordon goes to Hawaii! (Maybe he'll meet Gidget!)
The Holzier Files (Travel): (shrugs) He goes somewhere and does something.
I'm getting lazy here, Its Thanksgiving night---those of us not watching Football are probably best served by putting on a movie or something. If I'm home I might actually opt for Bad Santa 2 myself but I'm normally not home before 10 at the very least....Oh God my mom's not gonna wanna make me go shopping again afterwards is she??? Bout two years back I had to go to freaking Kohl's after the big meal to get a giant Batman play set for my youngest nephew which was at deep discount and an air fryer for my sister which was also at a marked discount---it was not pleasant--very long lines---apparently this is something people do every year???? Why??? Oh right savings.
ANYWAYS HAPPY TURKEY DAY IN ADVANCED!!
