Jeopardy! recap for Thur., Nov. 21

Today's contestants are:

- Darrin, a director of client engagement from Florida, botched his marriage proposal but it worked out OK anyway;
- Ryan, a filmmaker from New York, doesn't like to talk about running; and
- Elise, a financial counselor from New Jersey, collects dresses from the 60s and 70s. Elise is a one-day champ with winnings of $34,600.

Elise again was in complete command, with the game essentially over when Darrin missed DD2. Elise had an easy runaway at $25,200 vs. $6,600 for Ryan and $4,400 for Darrin.

DD1, $1,000 - 20th CENTURY HISTORY - Queen Victoria's eldest son took the throne in 1901 with this name and number (Elise added $1,200 to her leading score of $4,200.)

DD2 (video), $1,200 - PILLARS OF THE EARTH - A rock formation shaped like a pillar of salt near the Dead Sea in named for this biblical woman (Darrin lost $3,000 from his total of $5,000 vs. $11,000 for Elise.)

DD3, $1,200 - BOOK OF THE LAKE (& POND & RIVER) - Chapter XXV of "Le Morte d'Arthur" is "How Arthur by the mean of Merlin gat Excalibur his sword of" this woman (Elise won $2,200 from her score of $16,200 vs. $5,000 for Ryan.)

FJ - AMERICAN HISTORY - One a Civil War hero and one a U.S. Senator, brothers with this last name were both considered for the 1884 Republican presidential nomination

Surprisingly, everyone was incorrect on FJ. Elise dropped $5,000 to win with $20,200 for a two-day total of $54,800.

Shameless shilling: We had a full category designed to get us to watch the upcoming American Music Awards, but somehow I doubt the clips they showed had much allure for the elderly core Jeopardy! audience.

This day in Trebekistan: Alex introduced visiting dignitary Austin Rogers then imitated his hand gestures, and later the host shared that he like a bold print in the dresses he wears.

Correct Qs:
DD1 - Who was Edward VII?
DD2 - Who was Lot's wife?
DD3 - Who is the Lady of the Lake?
FJ - What is Sherman?
