What's On Tonight (Saturday): ♫ Tra-la-la, la-la-la-la, tra-la-la... ♫ AHH! They're gonna kill us!

The Banana Splits Movie (via Giphy)
One banana, two banana, three banana, four / Four bananas make a bunch and so do many more! Greeting to you all! There's some really notable stuff on TV tonight, many on the opposite ends of the entertainment spectrum. Getting the yellow star is the Syfy premiere of The Banana Splits Movie, a cheesy-but-entertaining slasher spin on the classic children's show of yesteryear. The next image after the header gif cuts off is... bloody. For the light-hearted TV fans, there's the series finale of the delightful My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which gets primetime treatment. For something in between, Lifetime debuts its movie inspired by the college admissions scandal called... uh... The College Admissions Scandal. You can also get in some sketch comedy with All That and SNL, some quality classics courtesy Thriller and Grace Under Fire, and some new anime with the debut of Demon Slayer and return of One-Punch Man. It's a big adventure, tons of fun / a beautiful heart, faithful and strong! Here's what's on television for tonight, Saturday, October 12!

💻 STREAMING

Street Flow (Banlieusards) 🎥 (Netflix, 3 a.m.): A French import about a 15-year-old from the suburb of Paris who is about to decide which brother's foot steps to follow: the lawyer student or the gangster. A difficult decision.

The DNA of Murder with Paul Holes (Oxygen, 7 p.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. In yet another true crime show, Paul Holes and Yolanda McClary investigate a double homicide that's left a small town in Iowa spooked for nearly 40 years.

Doctor Who 📺 (Retro TV, 6 p.m.): Jo and the Doctor discover the Master is working with, not imprisoned by, a mysterious underwater race, the Sea Devils, to conquer the world.

Meeting Gorbachev (History, 6 p.m.): SPECIAL. In this doc, Mikhail Gorbachev, former president of the Soviet Union, sits down with filmmaker Werner Herzog to discuss his many achievements, including the reduction of nuclear weapons, the reunification of Germany, and the dissolution of his country.

🕗 EASTERN / 🕖 CENTRAL

Happy Death Day 2U 🎥 (HBO, 8 p.m.): College student Jessica Rothe becomes the target of a masked killer when she wakes up in an alternate reality. When the psychopath targets her friends, she realizes that she must die over and over again to save them.

The College Admissions Scandal 🎥 (Lifetime, 8 p.m.): Well, that didn't take long. Two wealthy mothers share an obsession with getting their teenagers into the best colleges, so they turn to ensure their admissions. The New Yorker really liked it and you never know... the topical subject matter could garner it an Emmy nod.

All That (Nickelodeon, 8:30 p.m.): Marie Kiddo helps declutter a treehouse, Dracula reviews new technology with the Invisible Man, Nathan cancels trick or treating, and Girl Scouts go camping to earn coveted badges.

Henry Danger (Nickelodeon, 8 p.m.): Big steaks are on the line when Henry claims he can't be scared. Schwoz uses a machine that allows Henry to virtually experience the spooky stories that everyone in the Man Cave tells him in an attempt to prove Henry wrong.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (Discovery Family, 8 p.m.): SERIES FINALE. A goodbye in primetime fashion! When a villainous alliance unleashes its unified might on Equestria, it's up to the Mane Six (Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, & Pinkie Pie) to save the kingdom. Princess Twilight looks back on her time spent with the Mane Six when she is visited by a student with a friendship problem. I've watched the first half of this show and you know what... it's really damn good.

Svengoolie: The Mummy 🎥 (MeTV, 8 p.m.): In this quality Universal monster flick, a resurrected Egyptian mummy (Boris Karloff) stalks a beautiful woman (Zita Johann) he believes to be the reincarnation of his lover and bride.

FOR THE RECORDCrikey! It's the Irwins (Animal Planet)

🕘 EASTERN / 🕗 CENTRAL

⭐ The Banana Splits Movie 🎥 (Syfy, 9 p.m.): Inspired by the Sid and Marty Krofft's 1970s children's show The Banana Splits Adventure Hour, which aired on NBC for a couple seasons before a decade-long run in syndication, a family visits a taping of the The Banana Splits TV show for young Harley's birthday — he loves Snorky. However, word arrives that the show has been canceled, and the taping soon plunges into madness when the body count rises. The robot cast wants to ensure the show will go on forever. (The internet would like you to know this basically a Five Nights at Freddy's ripoff.)

Love, Fall & Order 🎥 (Hallmark Channel, 9 p.m.): A woman heads back to her hometown on a mission to help save her father's annual Fall Fest, which is held on her family's pumpkin farm. She probably finds love on the way.

Thriller 📺 (Decades, 10 p.m.): This weekend's binge starts around the mid-point of season one of this classic anthology, hosted by Boris Karloff. By the late evening, the show has embraced its horror and suspense strengths, really kicking off with this episode. An artist pawns his soul to the devil and must retrieve it by painting a portrait of another person whose soul will be exchanged for his. Let me assure you, this episode is a thriller. (I highly recommend the episode, "Masquerade," airing at noon Sunday, featuring Tom Poston and Elizabeth Montgomery... I love the ending.)

One-Punch Man (Adult Swim, 11:30 p.m.): PREMIERE. In this Toonami favorite (I couldn't quite get into it), while out shopping, Saitama and Genos come across G4, a demonic robot on a mission to eliminate King. Sitch recruits cutthroats, villains and assassins to help the Hero Association.

Hill Street Blues 📺 (Heroes & Icons, 11 p.m.): Tonight's group of episodes is highlighted by the fall of coroner Wally Nydorf (Pat Corley), who has botched numerous autopsies and dominoes fall against his favor.
