What's On Tonight (Wednesday): At Yellowstone, it's nothing personal, just family business

Hallo! Tonight we have a few new streaming options and some nonfiction cable shows, too. The highlight comes from Paramount's highly-rated family drama that is like a weak precursor to Succession. Here's what's on television for tonight, Wednesday, August 21!

American Factory (Netflix, 3 a.m.): In this doc, a Chinese billionaire opens a new factory in the husk of an abandoned General Motors plant in post-industrial Ohio. Early days of hope and optimism give way to setbacks as high-tech China clashes with working-class America.

Four Weddings and a Funeral (Hulu, 3 a.m.): Maya feels guilty that her work is forcing her to interact with Ainsley’s ex. Andrew and Tony 2 realize they have an unexpected connection. Bryce tries to take his professional relationship with Ainsley to the next level. Gemma gets on Duffy’s case about his lazy teaching... That's a lot of plot.

Harlots (Hulu, 3 a.m.): When Elizabeth’s past finally catches up with her, will Lucy end up paying the price? Meanwhile, as Hal’s anger with the Well’s family grows, Emily tries broker peace before the Wells-Pincher feud spirals out of control.

Hyperdrive (Netflix, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. In this tournament series, drivers from around the world compete on one of the largest automotive obstacle courses ever made.

This Way Up (Hulu, 3 a.m.): SERIES PREMIERE. In this British import, a young woman puts her life back together after suffering from a nervous breakdown. Aisling Bea, Sharon Horgan, Kadiff Kirwan, and Indira Varma, among others, star.

America's Got Talent (NBC, 8 p.m.): Seven acts from last night's show have moved on, and viewers have one last chance to send their favorite performer to the next round by participating in the Dunkin' save.

Bulletproof (The CW, 8 p.m.): Pike and Bishop are outraged when the Sharp case is moved to another unit and are instead reassigned to take down a local drug gang. Arjana needs money to fund a big opportunity at work.

Doctor Who πŸ“Ί (Retro TV, 8 p.m.): With Leela (Louise Jameson) banished, the Doctor (Tom Baker) is now President of Gallifrey and is aiding an invasion of the Time Lord planet by the Vardans. However, the Vardans won't be the biggest menace in this classic story.

MasterChef (Fox, 8 p.m.): Contestants have 60 minutes to create an elevated one-pan dish using the cast iron pan.

Queen Sugar (OWN, 9 p.m.): Micah takes Blue to the park triggering trauma from his past. Darla, struggling not to start drinking again, learns a painful truth about the night Blue was conceived – and Violet stands by her side for comfort.

Songland (NBC, 9 p.m.): Undiscovered songwriters pitch original material to Old Dominion, who are looking for original material to be featured in an upcoming Jeep commercial.

Star Trek: The Next Generation πŸ“Ί (Heroes & Icons, 9 p.m.): "The Best of Both Worlds, Part 1." Resisting this masterpiece episode is futile.

Suits (USA, 9 p.m.): Harvey makes a play to get Samantha's job back, and Katrina faces off against an old friend. But will Katrina and the old friend trade literal faces??

David Makes Man (OWN, 10 p.m.): I didn't find a summary, but the pilot was really good – and from the guy who wrote the story for Moonlight.

Face the Beast: Swamp of Death (History, 10 p.m.): In this two-part special, animal behavior expert Andrew Ucles and historian Brian Grossenbacher travel to Ramree Island off the coast of Myanmar, where hundreds of Japanese soldiers are reputed to have been slaughtered by crocodiles. At first I thought this was Feed the Beast, that show no one remembers.

Hollywood Game Night πŸ’² (NBC, 10 p.m.): Terry Crews, NE-YO, Kyle Bornheimer, Melissa Fumero, Dirk Blocker, and Joel McKinnon Miller are the Hollywood names for this game night.

Pearson (USA, 10 p.m.): Construction starts on North Park. Meanwhile, Jessica finds new financial backers for Bobby's campaign.

Press Your Luck πŸ“ΊπŸ’² (Buzzr, 9 p.m.): Just like 2019 episodes, you had to watch out for Whammies in 1984.

Psychic Kids (A&E, 9 p.m.): PREMIERE. A revival of the probably forgotten 2000s show about children who report having psychic abilities and the mentors/hosts Edy Nathan, Chris Fleming, and Kim Russo.

Sherman's Showcase (IFC, 10 p.m.): Host Mary J. Blige introduces some of the female artists who used Sherman's Showcase as a launchpad for their careers.

Snowfall (FX, 10 p.m.): Andre is forced to ask for Franklin's help, and Julia proposes a new plan to Teddy. Gustavo clears the way for his own vision.

South Side (Comedy Central, 10:30 p.m.): Kareme and Quincy compete to see who can repossess more in one day. For what will likely be some great laughs, Bluto defends himself in court.

⭐ Yellowstone (Paramount Network, 10 p.m.): The Duttons, after making a ceasefire with other rivals, gear up for a final fight with the Becks. Meanwhile, Beth, who got beat up by someone(?), helps Monica out of an uncomfortable situation.

Younger (TV Land, 10 p.m.): Liza is shocked to see an unexpected costar in her Infinitely 21 ad campaign. Kelsey and Charles head to Chicago with a plan to take over the fire station (I made up that last clause). Josh considers his options beyond Inkburg, even though the show has outgrown him; yet he keeps coming back.

Ferris Bueller πŸ“Ί (Decades, 1 a.m.): In tonight's episode of the largely reviled TV sequel series, Ferris (Charlie Schlatter) is unsupportive of Sloan's (Ami Dolenz) ambition of becoming a dancer. Ferris is also at odds with Principal Rooney (Richard Riehle) as he convinces the new janitor to impersonate the new dean of students.

When Things Were Rotten πŸ“Ί (Decades, 12:30 a.m.): in this short-lived Robin Hood comedy courtesy Mel Brooks, the Sheriff (Henry Polic II) recruits a band of evil look-a-likes to impersonate Robin Hood and his band in order to discredit them with the peasants while the real Robin (Dick Gautier) and his men are on vacation.
